Think you'd have to go back to Porto or even Ajax to not be accused of buying the CL.

 

Some fans prefer the romance of the old days before financial doping meant having the money to buy the best players. Back then it was just bribing referees or opposition players to help you win trophies. Simpler times.

 

Billions of euros, 115+ ffp breaches. They bought this title and treble. It’s not naive to say that. Salty maybe but it’s true. Let’s hope they get stripped of them all but I won’t hold my breath.

 

Sort of agree but City without the Arab money would be absolutely nowhere.

 

You can go all the way back to the days of Brian Clough and say he bought the European Cup, with the record transfer fee of the time of £1 Million for Trevor Francis. Without him the youngsters may not have won it.

 

Can't use Porto as an example they got Brazilians no other European teams outside Portugal could due to no work permits for them.
