Not really. We need our middle order big hitters to start earning their money. Howell will be a welcome addition but we haven't massively missed him yet.We need Benny Howell right now.
Next week? It starts in 2 days!If Prest and Howell can get themselves back at some point, then having them replace Whiteley and, either Crane or Turner, should really help us.
It's probably only four of today's team (maybe even just three) who will be playing the four day game next week, so I wonder if the rest of the side will get a week off, or if we've arranged a t20 friendly or two. Currie, Donald, Organ and a young batter for Dawson, Fuller, Weatherley, and Vince: it would still be a pretty strong side for 2nd XI standards.

Crane and Organ in the side so pitch looks like the pitch will assist the spinners.
Parkinson has been out of favour with Lancs - even went to Durham on loan. And yet Lancs not picking Parkinson would suggest that one team has read this pitch wrong.

True. I guess we only too happy to be asked to bat given our team selection!Yeah, because no side generally needs two spinners in April and May. So leaving out the non-batting leggie was easy then. Crane hardly played for us either.
But if Lancs thought this pitch was going to turn, they wouldn't have left him out, and they wouldn't have chosen to bowl first.
