Joke. People who think that's a pen have never played football before. Horrendous. Need to sort the rule out immediately.
As I say, if that happens in a SAFC game, you want a pen. Hand is away from the body and stops the ball going into a dangerous area.I’d be screaming fir a pen if that happened in the north stand area

Really? I'm not bothered about either team but for me a penalty should be given when you deliberately try to stop the ball with your hand - not of this natural position of the hand crap

To me, his arm comes down naturally as the ball has gone over his head and then he moves it back up stopping the ball.

Players meant to jump in the air with arms by their side now ? Pencil style ? Got to be some common sense. This rule of anything that touches the arm is ridiculous.

Aye agree it’s a joke, you can’t get any height without lifting your arms. There was nothing wrong with the original rule where blatant accidental hand balls wouldn’t lead to a penalty. It’s not hard to work out the difference between accidental and deliberate.

Bit now the rule has changed so there is essentially no such thing as accidental, in 75% of VAR decisions anyway.

Aye. That's what I mean. Pathetic rule leading to pathetic decisions like this one.

Looked like he instinctively flashed his hand to block it to me, rather than that his hand would have been there naturally. Probably if it smacks his palm instead of grazing his fingers it looks clearer.

It shouldn’t be a pen but it’s the double movement that kills Grealish. His hand appears to be moving back up towards the ball as it passes.

IMO it’s a coincidence - he has no idea the ball is there. But with the wording of the stupid law at the moment you can see why they’d give it

It's more the rules tha need sorting out. VAR gives them one game and not the next. Not a pen for me but it seems it is this week. Lino is on that side so he should have called it anyway but they are ****ing useless as well.
VAR made them worse than they already were. Refs as well. They’d rather let VAR make an important Decision. Stood out a mile in our play off games
