Obviously you want a full 25 man squad, goes without saying. How often have we used all 25 though?

17 is too low.

21 or 22 is required.

to answer the question, you really hope you don't need to use them all but they have to be there

3 keepers, you hope you don't need 2
8 defenders if you play back 4, you really hope 1 oe 2 hardly play

HOWEVER

it is likely uefa will have to change this rule before long due to EU courts and we could see an end to association trained players

Mount might be worthless to anyone but Chelsea in future and anyone signing him has in effect another none homegrown player.

if we had to have 8 club trained players in the squad we would be royally screwed over.

the market for 18 year olds would explode.

It's a common misconception that you need a HG quota. You don't. In a 25 man squad only 17 can be non-homegrown. You don't have to have 8 homegrown .... or 7 or 6 or 5 ....

they'd be in serious trouble if they tried it.

Not from authorities, they'd just have all kids playing to fill in when 4 or 5 player s(as is normal) are injured

the average squad size is over 40 but the average premier league squad names is about 23

Our prem squad was officially 23 players

we have 60 u21s and underage players.

Elliott, bajcetic, carvalho etc would fall into the 60 players along with loads who went on loan etc.

If you tried to only have 17 senior players and the rest u21 it might be very short order that you run into serious injury problems.

That should have been can't. Although I suppose if you squeeze hard enough you probably can fit a large toad in a small hole.

I'm presuming a long deep but narrow orifice can have quite a large toad packed in but you'd be hard pressed to force the volume of a toad into a hole smaller than its volume unless you blended it or something.

Worst thing for us was Bellingham blowing up as I genuinely think we were interested but as soo as those performances kicked in for England it was done
