Really is scary how good their scouting is. It’s easy to see why De Zerbi doesn’t seem to be sweating over the potential losses of Caicedo and MacAllister when they’re just picking up more stars on the conveyor belt.

Pound for pound the best club in the league right now.

Their Chairman was just talking on BBCR4. So impressive! Every part of their plans are coordinated. They have developed a conveyor belt for developing players and coaches, so they do not fear the loss of some players etc.
    If only ...<doh>

Tony Bloom has said: “We'll be able to compete next season even if we lose a couple of our star players”.

“That happens at almost every club, we don't worry and as long as we get the right price for our players they will sometimes go”.
    ————

The way he’s so unfazed, just like De Zerbi, over the potential losses of two of the league’s best players because they’re almost 100% confident they’ll replace them, especially with the likely £120m+ they’ll receive for the pair is just peak footballing confidence in their plan and vision.

Meanwhile everyone at Spurs knows the moment Kane leaves we’re basically Everton.

I expect them to be relegated within 5 years. There is nothing in their record that suggests a sustainable edge.

What suggests that will be their fate ??

At the least I would expect a probability for any team
promoted to the PL being relegated within N years
    thereafter.

It does have to be said we have seen several clubs that at one point were flying high and held up as a model for others to follow get relegated

Swansea went down five years ago and haven't bounced back up as would have been expected, Southampton will be playing in the Championship next season, and there's a possibility that Leicester will be doing likewise

That's the issue with being held up as a model: clubs run the risk of being stripmined and the models ceases to be sustainable, which happened to Villa a few years ago when the Manc teams descended upon them, happened to Swansea when we and Liverpool took scalpels to them, and happened to Southampton when Man Utd, Liverpool and the Bottlers ripped the team apart (yet somehow we were the bad guys...)

Turns out the only sustainable model to follow is being state-sponsored or, at the very least, bankrolled by an energy drink or car manufacturer

That we waste on players far worse than theirs.

It's an opinion (which may or may not be supportable by existing PL data) .

Why wouldn't they have confidence in their model? It hasn't failed... yet.
Their problem is that the richer clubs can now copy them and/or undercut their model.
And, as he says, it happens to everyone.

I think where bigger/ richer clubs would struggle to completely emulate them is actually providing the amount of chances they do to some of these players. Enciso, Buonanotte and Ferguson for example are all featuring extensively for them now, three 18 year olds featuring as heavily as that isn't often seen nowadays. I doubt any other clubs were looking at Caicedo and Mitoma 2 or so years ago too, yet both would likely have most of Europe's elite willing to pay a fortune right now.

We ourselves have been a prime example of being a club that can't (won't) provide chances. Sarr, Gil and Spence for instance, all three are older than those Brighton teenagers yet barely had a sniff here despite clearly being very talented. Had they joined Brighton, they'd probably be linked to clubs like us now for about £50m, lol.

Quite likely. But if we gave them chances we would almost certainly not make top 4. While it is almost certainly the right long term decision to give more chance to youth it reduces your performance at the beginning.

If they had the ability to retain key players they probably would've finished top four this season.

White, Bissouma, Trossard etc with the likes of Caicedo, MacAllister, Mitoma whilst players such as Enciso, Buonannotte and Ferguson further developed, they'd likely smash most of the league out of the water bar City.

What is an Arne Snot anyway? Can't we find a manager in Britain that knows how to defend, attack employ a midfield not to mention keep the ball out of the net?Apparently not.Of course it would help to employ a few very good DEFENDERS! to replace the ladies that have been turning out for us lately! A couple of hungry choppers would be nice!.......and a halt to this BLOODY SIDEWAYS FOOTBALL would be equally nice!

Toney bet on Brentford to lose 13 times.

Bet he scored a number of winners or equalisers in those games.

    Dumb ****, lol.

    Edit:
Apparently didn’t play in those matches, shame, would’ve made a funny story.
