I have told the story on here before. At the cricket World Cup, I volunteered with some one (Eric) who went to Ezes church in South London. 6 weeks later I got a phone call from Eric and he said he had someone who wanted to talk to me. It was Ebere Eze. We spoke for about quarter of an hour..he invited me to a match, I explained I was a season ticket holder, so he invited me to meet him after the match( Brentford we lost). I met his father, brothers and girlfriend...who chatted to me for ages. Ilias Chair came out of the changing room to find me and apologise as Eze had a press duty to do. He eventually came out, and gave me his shirt, sign my daughters baby shirt, take photos...and talk to me loads. He was so lovely and genuine...even down to sending Ilias Chair out to "find Beth" and apologise. The stories my friend Eric tells about what he does in his church in a private and regular way are actually incredible. He runs a food bank and delivers meals to the elderly ( none of whom know who is ...but refer to him as the quiet and kind young man). He really seems to break the mould on modern footballers
Because he’s going to the very top and we’re a basket case barely Championship club that can afford to pay him about £50 a week and a bag of magic beans? He really is going to the top though. Like regular England starter, City/Real Madrid level of top.
Of course you're right Bwood. And I realised that, but we really could have used him this year. He could have been the spark that got the others going with his attitude and ability. OR, he may have been dragged down to our level (more likely). Best of luck to him either way. Hope he gets to Champions League level.
