Of course they've impacted on my club. But the only place we're going to change that is on the pitch. We have to improve ourselves.
If clubs like City are breaking the rules then I'm all for them having the book thrown at them. But anyone who thinks that's going to happen is living in cloud cuckoo land. In the mean time City will carry on winning silverware.
So what are United going to do about it,what are Spurs going to do about it? Run our clubs better, have better managers, bring in the players to compete and overcome that challenge because at the end of the day that's all that matters.
Truth is the problems on the pitch lie with us. You know full well City and Toon aren't the reason Spurs are midtable, I know they're not the reason we've been a shambles for almost a decade. And they're not the reason Livpl couldn't manage more than 2/3 yrs success, that's down to their owners not putting their hands in their pockets when they should have and a manager who was too stupid to realise when he needed to get rid and rebuild.
Genuinely I look at City and the only thing I think about is what do we need to do to be better. That's it.
I felt that with Chelsea, and the Toon is just more of the same.
I can't see how they've
impacted on us, what has impacted on us is having our own owners saddle us with a billion quid in debt while City have truly unlimited funds to do whatever they want with, as any idea of FFP is completely out of the window, and we all know it.
Yes, United has spent loads, poorly. But that's how you acrue a billion quid worth of debt to be absolutely frank. Tough **** on us I guess.
And none of that billion was spent on infrastructure by the way, none. Not a ****ing penny. You can't even buy a pint at Old Trafford. They only sell warm bottles of pish because the concourses and the leisure facilities are completely ****ed.
So, while City have a very good looking recent net spend, net spend doesn't reflect the shiny new facilities they have and the fact the were
given their stadium by Manchester Council, or whovever owned it post Commenwealth games. Free, gratis, poor old City need a new ground so here, have this one.
I happen to sit on the same side as you, I don't really care about what they do and how they spend, I'm more concerned with United getting our house in order and managing the club well so the team can compete again.
This idea though that City are this altruistic existence who just happened to find a money tree and spend the benefits of that very sensibly is bollocks though. They have been fudging their accounts from day 1 in of all this.
How people react to this is up to them though. It doesn't really bother me as I've sat alongside City in their various levels of ****eness to excellence all my life and they are what they are, irrelevant in the grand scheme of things to me.
