It's a shame how it panned out - all stemmed from the Rakitic foul on him and this national team playing when he was nowhere near ready. Career hampened by poor decisions.

Alexis Mac Allister chance is looking good, also if we can get Rice at a reasonable price. They both have Premier league experiences.

There have been many false dawns. Coming back from injury, a good performance, back out again.

I spent a good few years hoping he'd come good, on occasion, very few occasions there where glimpses of what could have been.

That's all drained away though. I'm looking forward to him finally leaving.
