Needs must though, if we go chucking money on players plus high wages we could be back here again. We’ve stopped the risk of financial suicide let’s progress up the league. If it’s too slow then so be it, but let’s stay financially in the right side of the line.
Of course I’m not suggesting we buy marquee players, but on the other hand we don’t want to be in the position we were in around Christmas, next season we really need to be bottom of the top, rather than top of the bottom, if that makes sense. Anywhere from 3rd to tenth I’d be hoping for.
Nigel Pearson makes summer transfer admission around Bristol City's goalkeeping department Nigel Pearson will reassess the goalkeeping situation during pre-season when Stefan Bajic returns from his difficult loan spell Nigel Pearson is not ruling out bringing in an experienced goalkeeper to challenge Max O'Leary for the No1 shirt next season but insists it's not a priority position and a decision will be made during pre-season. The goalkeeping department has seen notable changes throughout the campaign with club captain Dan Bentley heading to Wolves in the January transfer window having lost his place in the side to his former team-mate back in October. O'Leary, 26, has made the shirt his own with a number of consistent performances and was rewarded with a contract extension until 2026 in February. However, he hasn't necessarily been challenged in the position. Nikita Haikin arrived as a No2 in January on a short-term deal until the end of the season but was released two months later after agreeing a three-year contract with former club Bodo/Glim
Bristol City edging closer to new signings as latest update emerges Bristol City’s season has only just finished - but new players could join soon. https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/...new-signings-as-latest-update-emerges-4135310
Signing players early this year in particular will hopefully stop us paying inflated fees. IF we sell Scott then the cost of transfer targets will rocket. Nevertheless I hope we can get in a few proven Championship quality players in this summer.
Nigel Pearson responds to striker speculation amid Bristol City links with Kevin Nisbet Bristol City have been linked with two forwards in as many weeks but strengthening other areas of the squad remains a priority https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/nigel-pearson-bristol-city-nisbet-8428358
To be totally honest I would love to see SL stay and see us promoted with Nigel at our helm but if we don't come close next time out then that would possibly be the time he heads for the hills after selling the club. Whatever happens on the club ownership front we owe a great debt of gratitude to Steve for his stewardship and major financial support of Bristol City during some telling times.
100% agree has put us back on the map with one of the best managers outside the premiership in control.
Not too sure that a guy with 12 goals in L1, or someone from the Scottish PL is where we should/need to be buying from. It feels a very mid to low table ambition for me. I am concerned we have, and continue to look to do a lot of business in these areas.
Fair enough, we have to avoid getting in the mess we did before though, our recruitment needs to be cute, we need to replicate Millwall, Luton and Coventry, all who ended up either in, or in Millwalls case just outside, the playoffs. We can’t afford the wages of marquee players.
Bristol City keen to sign Lincoln defender this summer Regan Poole is departing the Imps when his contract expires and Championship clubs are interested https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/bristol-city-keen-to-sign-lincoln-defender-this-summer/
Here we are again looking in the bargain basement hoping to find some diamonds in the rough. We can't afford to shop at Harrods and so Poundland looks to be our store of choice, which is fine if you can find exactly what you want at somewhat lesser pricing. Party on.

The only people that know is the gaffer -Tinman-and SL. Think we need to sell Scott for the real business to happen.
Not necessarily; we should still have a good amount left from the sale of Semenyo. If it's spent well, we shouldn't HAVE to sell Scott.
