that’s our only chance. Even then I think they’ll keep him for champions league minutes. He feels like the kinda player we will one day be watching in a champions league final mesmerised that he ever played for us. we actually have a better chance of using his experience with us as leverage or evidence to take the likes of elanga or various others on loan.
Aye I'd be pretty confident of that. We would surely be first choice for both Man U and Amad... The only risk is that they decide they want him in and around their first team next season which would be a bit gutting.
I cant believe Man Ure paid 80m for a bang average player in Anthony who plays in the same position as Amad. Then again this is the club that paid 85m for Maguire so maybes i can
I wasn't trying to be flippant or to suggest we have vast amounts of money available at the drop of a hat. Management at Man U has changed, and may change further in the next couple of months. It isn't unreasonable to make the proposition that, having paid c.£22m for him, they will have amortised his value since Jan 21 which, given he has a 5 year deal, would indicate his value in their books could now be c.£14m or so. Therefore, imo,it's not unreasonable to assume that the increase in revenue promotion would guarantee may sustain a transfer of something in that order?
I think that if Utd get a top 4 position this year they will spend big. I don't think that he will get anywhere near the subs bench apart from Carabao cup or an easy European away game. I think he will go out on loan. I would love it to be us, but highly doubt it. However if we do get promoted then who knows???
Right. I thought he'd asked for him as he'd had him at Ajax. Whatever, he seems to love him. Can't see it myself. Ahmad himself likes to cut in on his left, but that's ALL Antony ever does!
Oh I don’t rate Anthony. Just the money spent on him is nothing to do with ten Haag. Think Anthony can be a good player. Not a 90m player by any stretch!! But I’ve watched him look way better than he has at Utd
That's not how player values work though, unfortunately - this last season will only have increased his market value. Having said that, £50m is probably a bit much, but I can't see Man U letting him go for less than they paid for him. Ultimately, it's their decision and there's naff all SAFC can do about it. Qué Sera, sera
When he goes to the states with them on his pre-season tour, I think ETH will realise what a player he has and put him in the squad for the season. Either that or he'll be sent abroad to finish off his development.
