Its not going to end well. looks like he wants to move on and its not like WHam can hold him to ransom like Spurs did with Kane over the boyhood club stuff, he's a Chelsea boy. Either they accept a lower price or he stays and sulks for year and leaves for free.
they have clearly seen him playing for his move over the past 3/4 months and want to ride the wave here. the conference league is a piece of piss for them thus far and they have got to safety and instantly they are out hawking their prime asset to get a bid. they know he will talk to others and be out the door in January anyway so they want it done. nobody in their right mind pays what they are asking but it only takes one Todd doesn't it? just get the price to Qatar for when man utd fold and Qatar utd are founded. get the price in city's ear get the price in the saudi's ear.
WHam have the option to extend for another year which naturally they will exerciseif it comes to that .
i would have said the same until last season when he moved up a notch and has become a good all round midfielder instead of just being a defensive minded player .
schmadtke is apparently only a temporary consultant on transfers no sign of a DoF anytime soon by the sounds of it. Ward is apparently doing nothing o nthe new deals happening over the summer and will really just be desk tidying by now.
he already turned down 200k a week relatively recently. Sounds like he wants to go play CL football and compete so don’t think any money is going to get him to stay at West Ham.
I don't think Rice would sign a new deal but who knows. He's refused £200k but doubt he's refuse £1m per week, middle ground somewhere Inbetween
personally, I rate him. £50m is probably undervalued in today’s market but I guess it depends if he has one or two years left on his contract. If WHU are asking £120m, my guess is it is two (e.g. they can unilaterally extend his contract by the one year option).
Its getting awfully hard to determine what value someone should be. When a club is asking £120mill for a teenager. And even Graelish went for over £100 mill (two years ago, so that's probably £120 mill in today's money) £50 mill seems paltry for an established player with good ability after the English-national surcharge... But if you go back a decade, that's the price we sold a world-class () striker to Chelsea for and theres plenty of very good talent that can still be had for that price or less . I sometimes think price is determined by a random number generator.
