In classic NUFC fan style I am starting to get nerves now.

My question is if we do manage to finish outside the top 4. Have we bottled it?

Would it be like the Keegan esq collapse?

Or do we just take the pain and accept we are over achieving?

 

It will have been a successful season..... above expectations..... outsiders will see it like a failure but it'll be more relief to their long term anguish.

 

Other than against Villa our performances have been the opposite of a team that is bottling it, wherever we finish.

Also.. if Man City win the CL (looking good) then the 5th place opens up for CL anyhow.

I personally think the dippers will sneak in via 5th place, the jammy skip raiding dossers.

 

The season would be a massive success but we would be disappointed to miss out. I would not say we have bottled it. Our form over the past 10 games is 8 wins and 2 defeats. What we are experiencing is that the odd dip cannot be allowed to happen as the chasing pack just win relentlessly. Liverpool were always capable of going on a run like this. We all said, ages ago.

The performance against Arsenal gives me hope that we will secure top 4. If we continue to play like that, we will win the rest of our games (it'll be tough to maintain mind you)

 

Two wins is all we need. Beating Leeds would be monumental.

 

If we wallop Leeds then 6 points is easily enough. Goal difference is our friend this season (who would have ever thought that!)

 

5th place does not get a CL spot even if Man City win it, apparently it goes to a club in the next country on the UEFA coefficient rankings list who does not have a guaranteed group stage spot, or something like that anyway, there can not be more than 4 teams from each country in the CL.

 

3 more wins should be enough. I have a feeling we'll lose one more game but we shouldn't forget manure could lose a game also.

 

Enough for third? More than enough for fourth.
