Stranger things have happened. Have faith.

wish man utd another fa cup? no thanks LOL

Arsenal should have that league but they messed up and we all know what city are like at this time.

I do think real can beat them well but city will hurt them too. its about the intensity city can bring IMO. real won't cope with it for 180 mins. THe only hope arsenal have is city are tired after playing real

Haaland isn't going to a club for the money, he can get the money wherever he goes. The release clause is purely about having control over his own destiny.
Sorry I don't think it came across as a general statement (and not specifically the current contract situation). I laughed because Haaland is all about the money.

Sometimes the same set of circumstances can apply differently to different players. It doesn't make it contradictory to point that out.

Don't agree but we're going round it circles so I'll agree to disagree

yeah but haaland is a very unique case

it's a guy with a pro footballer father and an agenda from a very very young age. their expectation and approach from a very young age was not to simply be a footballer or maximise return for family to to plot the route to building a massive profit and legacy.

other examples are messi and family (massive greed there) or neymar and family.

a lad like macallister at 20 in a small Argentinian side can never be thinking like that as a family. he's taken a deal to get to English football on a small wage and jumped at the average wage

I sincerely doubt he thought he could get more than what brighton offered.

Plus, he was probably ecstatic getting that too

<ok>
I will admit my feelings towards Haaland are coloured by the great disdain I have for the oil clubs which filters down to every player who signs for them. I could agree with everything you said about the contract situation until you 'admired' (?) him for it.

I liken my feelings towards the oil clubs to what somebody (can't remember who) said a long time ago about war. He said 'wouldn't it be good if when war was declared, nobody turned up'. Similarly I think - wouldn't it be good if when a corrupt state bought a football club, nobody turned up ie wanted to play for them.

We are where we are with all of that. I just can't get behind any club, or player thereof, who are making a mockery of the game.

Did I say admire? I don't exactly love Haaland, just respect the approach he and his team take to contacts to protect himself (aka the asset)

Tchouameni not happy at Real. Liverpool reportedly interested at £70m. What a wheeze, to get your original target by funding your backup target's transfer.
