That's annoying. Vince was going great guns. Should have taken the single off the 4th ball of the last over.
Now we haven't managed to bowl them out cheaply this match is almost certain to end in a draw with tomorrow looking a certain washout. So it's important to pick up all 3 bowling points.
That's assuming we can keep out a very good Warwickshire bowling attack, with confidence high and their tails up with a healthy lead, on Sunday...
That was a bit of a painful watch at the Ageas this afternoon, after such a good start in the first mini-session. Warwickshire doing to us what we've done to other teams ourselves over the past couple of seasons, putting us firmly in our place. We were a good 100 runs short on that wicket and we could still have recovered closer to 300 if we hadn't thrown our last few wickets away. I didn't enjoy watching Fuller's bang it in half-way ball after ball tactic. It made him look like the bowler he was a couple of years ago, the odd good ball and then lots of hittable stuff. Just go back to bowling it quick and in a good channel, put a deep cover and point out to limit them to singles if you want to.
Well, I certainly hope (and expect) so, yes. However, when we are 10-2 to Woakes and Rushworth and still with 60 overs remaining then we might be forced to reconsider. It should be a draw if day 3 is rained off but I'm always a bit pessimistic when it comes to Hampshire's batting. Organ is bound to be dismissed at some point in the first 5 overs of our 2nd innings I think.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore hits 130 in 102 balls to earn Somerset some batting points. Som 322-5 after just 74 overs
Not sure how Taunton has escaped the worst of the weather TBH - it's normally the wettest in the west country!
