I have no issue with where you send your kids whatsoever and since you're desiring to get personal, no one here does you raging simpleton.

It isn't an income debate and the fact you resort to that so quickly is telling in an incredibly unflattering manner. If you want to be further disappointed in a dick swinging contest go to your country club.

I take issue with your frankly wild belief that private education should be exempt from tax and should continue to abuse the charitable status they are afforded. This culminates in a routine disadvantage for 93% of children.

If you genuinely believe you are being bullied for arguing that the perpetuation of systemic inequality is a good thing, then I am at a loss.

20% on school fees should be nothing for such a high flying big shot like you. Maybe if you work a bit harder you could afford it no bother.

The charitable status of private schools has long been a sore point with me. I think I read that the lost revenue from not taxing private schools amounts to about 6 billion? That is a huge wedge of money that could be redirected to kids who need it.

I just want to point out a few things as a former teacher. Most private schools are a con. Yes you get small class sizes, nice playing fields and ‘connections’, but private school teachers don’t have to have any qualifications and they go out of their way to seek out the easiest exams to boost their scores. I was shocked to find that most private schools were examining English as iGCSE. That is the international version- and very easy.

    Save your money!

Not to mention the politics. Friend of mine taught for a year, as a mat leave fill-in, at a very old and obscenely expensive private school. Most of the kids were apparently quite lovely, but it was also made rather clear that any attempts at classroom discipline or poor grading needed to be okayed at a higher level, because when daddy is paying the equivalent of £38,000 a year for that education (and is probably a prominent overseas government official), certain allowances have to be made.

Cheerio, your disingenuous original post and subsequent rantings get the reaction they deserve. Bullying it is not.

Forgive me if I don't see a huge amount wrong here. She's been taking part in a slow march on a road, therefore obstructing the road. Last time I checked that's illegal. Whether the protests have a good cause or not, you commit a crime = you get arrested. She's not been nicked for exercising her right to protest at all. She's been nicked for doing it illegally.

Until yesterday it wasn’t illegal. That’s the point.

You're right. I quickly googled it and it came up with Highways Act 1980. But I just clicked on it and the amendment in question came in yesterday. But laws are changed/amended on a regular basis. Given there have been people blocking junctions of the M25 this move is necessary. I don't see the issue with amending legislation.

Another protestor was pulled into the road from the pavement by a policeman, and then arrested. I do see a problem with giving the Met in particular even more powers, especially when they don’t have the resources to combat actual crime.

Tom, where do protests happen? In the street. You can’t protest on a pavement. It is a clever way to ban the right to protest. Walking slowly on a street is illegal so you can only protest on the pavement.

I guess they have also just banned funeral processions…

    https://www.bluecross.org.uk/advice/dog/dogs-at-polling-stations-can-i-take-my-dog-with-me-to-vote

Can my dog vote for me?

If you’re unable to cast your ballot you can ask someone else do so on your behalf – by proxy – but you can’t ask a dog to do this for you, unfortunately. Proxies must be over 18 and registered to vote (which probably counts your dog out).

Another example of the government's attempt to block the working classes from voting Labour. Dogs, as everyone knows, are traditionally left wing especially Labouradors.
I was going to send her in my place, along with all the necessary ID of course, but unfortunately, she's buried her Polling Card in the garden behind the compost heap.

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
    Then they came for me
And there was no one left
    To speak out for me

So protestors should be able to block any road they want, whenever they want without any consequences?

Do you think protestors want to block any road they want, whenever they want? I mean that is a lot of road blocks…

Very much to the point creeping Fascism/Farageism in order to, they think, garner the populist vote.

Believe it or not, this is actually from a real website.
I found it when I was looking to see if it was ok to take dogs in as my wife was going to combine the dog walk with voting.
