Barca bulied Arsenal over Fabregas because he wouldn't consider going to any other club. They bought Mascherano on the cheap (relatively) because of your financial problems. Neither of those situations applies to Bale and Spurs.
Would Bale want to go to Barcelona to play at LB? Especially as he's shown how dangerous he can be cutting in when further up the field.
He'd probably have to do less defending at Barca, CS! He'd have to improve his falling over, though. He's not very good at it at the moment. His imaginary card waving leaves a lot to be desired, too.
Player power applies when Spanish players or others from Barca get to targets on international breaks. Help me out, because for the life of me I can't think of any Welsh players in the Barcelona set up. If we qualify for the CL, why would he go right now?
The Fail are reporting this also http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2060177/Gareth-Bale-wanted-Barcelona.html so its more than likely idle speculation / lazy journalism. Even if there was a Barcelona scout, they could have been watching Modric, VDV, Adebayor etc
Bale does seem like a genuinely decent person, and a bright one too. I think he believes, rightly, that making a name for himself as a likable human being who cares about his club will be worth at least as much over the course of his career as looking for a big transfer somewhere else.
Or, for that matter, Hangeland or Dembele. There were 36 players to choose from in the matchday squads, after all.
Cardiff fan in peace Know the family, Gareth is happy at Spurs..........and he has "more money than he can ever spend" and that's a direct quote..............when Real Madrid came sniffing around, Gareth laughed it off, he was flattered and maybe will think about moving on, but not for a few years yet (another direct quote). If your chairman is strong, well Gareth is not going to make waves, mind you Barca has to be a temptation for any footballer........but Gaz has his head screwed on, and is very mature for a young lad
Apparently Ray Wilkins questions whether we would hold onto Bale if offered £35 mill for him as: "It will be very interesting to see if Tottenham can turn that down as it is an extreme amount of money." (see BBC gossip column for Saturday). Bear in mind the source is TalkSport as well. Some of these 'expert pundits' seem to have very short term memories. Clearly he's forgotten all about the £40 mill we rejected for Modric out of hand at the end of the last transfer window.
When Wilkins appears on T.V. they should not show his face, but his arse - because that's what he talks out of.
The same Wilkins that said we would never hold on to Modric and would be better off letting him join his beloved Abramovich FC, the bloke is a Fool and would be ideal for a job on Talks hite.
The only thing you can say for the Fail's reporting is that it has a habit of sparking off debate on here and clicking on the link reminds me what a complete and utter pile of ****e this paper is. The paper that supported Hitler has stuck to its guns over the years and backs the wrong horse whenever it suits it's policy. A waste of trees.
I know Wilkins isn't exactly the best pundit around, it just annoys me that major broadcasters employ people who would rather create headlines than make accurate, informed observations about situations. Guess thats just the way of the world nowadays though, especially when Spurs are still perceived as a 'selling club' despite us holding on to Modric when the same 'pundits' all announced that we were selling him.
Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins has questioned whether Tottenham would be able to turn down a £35m bid from Barcelona for winger Gareth Bale. Reports have emerged that the Spanish club have sent scouts to watch him and Wilkins said: "It will be very interesting to see if Tottenham can turn that down as it is an extreme amount of money." (Source: TalkSport) It's pathetic, absolutely pathetic! Ray Wilkins has shown on several occasion that he has nothing but contempt for Spurs. His ability to comment on anything Spurs do is about as balanced as any comments I would make about 'Pool, but I at least have the decency to admit my bias. He is a clown, and anything he says about Spurs is negative. Hey, Ray! How about Spurs keep hold of their best players and continue to close the gap on us and United? We've already caught up with Chelsea, having overtaken the likes of 'Pool and Arsenal. Yeah, and how about this for a thought, perhaps young Bale has seen all of this and has decided he wants to remain an important part of this exciting revolution? Now, do everyone a favour and stick your head in the oven.
I got banned from your board for trying to enter into serious debate with your foolish fan-base. Yet, you will get away with making stupid, provocative WUM comments like that!
I've said it before, but I would actually rather read The Sun. At least it doesn't make any pretensions to be a "serious" newspaper. It's a sensationalist rag posing as a sensationalist rag. The Fail, on the other hand, pretends to be a serious paper - but is just another sensationalist rag - only without the tits. I should have said breasts, for clarity; as, of course, The Fail has plenty of tits - it's just that they all write for the rag.
