Looks like our old friend James Beattie is hoping to continue his career on the Dorset Coast. This should put to bed any hope of a nostalgic return to St Marys.

According to the report, it seems that Beattie moved down this way even though he didn't have a club. The South Coast obviously had a place in his heart, which is nice to know. Quite a few of our former players still live in the area aswell. Lundekvam, Tessem, Telfer, Benali, Dodd, Williams and Murty are the others I know of.

Good luck to him. He played well for us and could do a good job for Bournemouth. He would terrorise defenders in league 1.

The latter three are involved in the club in some way, which is great.

Can only really be wages that have stopped him getting a club in the Championship thus far.

Good luck to him. I think he still has a place in Chilworth, so it wouldn't exactly be a problem for him. Plus he stays fit, and he'll have to. League One is no cakewalk.

If he can stay fit he will score for fun in league one. Him and the boy Thomas who is on loan from Crawley would be a formidable partnership. I am sure the new Russian investor who owns 50% of the club has had something to do with funding his arrival. Good luck to Beatts!

I know someone who met him in 90's a few weeks ago and he said he personally rang up Cortese to see if he could join on reduced wages but NC was having none of it. So I don't think wages will be a problem. <ok>
