Of course I have and I agree it should happen.

But you’re essentially asking de bruyne to drop in and cover for Dias when he moved forward. Why would you ask the most dangerous player on the pitch to go back into defence. You don’t… you ask the defensive midfielder to drop in. That’s Fabinho.

Getting TAA to drop in and cover Konate when we’re attacking just makes no sense.

Surely you see that? Please tell me what is the logic behind making Trent (ignore positions and number 6s or 17s or 45s) drop into centre back when we have the ball and are attacking. A guy that is our top assist maker over the last 5 years..?

MITO (and Jimmy) hates Hendo so he definitely wouldn't have said anything positive about him...<whistle>

    for the record.

if someone is stood as a 6, respective of his name, then he will have to cover others as they go forward.

klopp even stated he had trent and fabinho as 6s and Jones and Henderson at 10s.

if someone thinks the left sided 6 is going to run across the park to cover the right side centre half then the right sided no 6 is closer then I'm afraid they are unlikely to get the concept at all.

watch this and see the guys who are looking at matip running off like a lunatic and just stopping and filling the space behind or just stepping back.

in ye olden days in a 442 you wouldn't find say Scholes and keane both running on but nobody would expect keane to stand there cos Scholes was that amazing or vice versa one ccovered the other.

it's the same today. if we have told trent to park himself at 6 and told Henderson to run off up there to a 10 slot and stand next to a cb and then there's absolutely nothing for konate to pass to (an absolute sin imo)

Well, if konate decides he's got to run that ball the ****ing least trent can do is give him a bit of cover.

don't expect fabinho to come across the park to do the job of the guy klopps actually told to be a 6 on the right side

same as I'd not expect trent to cover vvd.

Position numbers mean different roles in different countries mate.

Traditionally, 5 & 6 in this country were CBs, 4 & 8 were CMs. However, in Europe, the 4 & 6 numbers were switched. IE don't use numbers as they can have various meanings.

Klopp can, because he's talking about HIS team and what HE wants from them.

I don't care who covers whom as long as some bugger fills that bloody great gap we keep leaving.

    God.

stop buying into the pedantic number nonsense. the point made was perfectly valid. trent watched konate run forward and went forward himself or just totally ignored the 40 yard gap behind him. that was the point.

trent and fabinho are there to hold as a pair. call them whatever you want.

if you were playing Sunday league and went off on a run and nobody bothered themselves cover you then you'd not be happy. if you went over and started screaming at the left sided player when you play on the right for not covering then he'd tell you to get the ****.

I've not even started on trent putting ball out for a throw then standing off the pitch while it was recovered by forest and walking back while throw is taken. konate absolute screamed at him for that one.

trent switches off. Time and time again, not covering his cb as the guy goes up carrying the ball is just the basics.

you cannot expect someone to come from 20 yards across to cover his errors as then that yet another gap to be left.

as I've said very soon someone is going to blow through this lunacy.

He does like a run forward doesn't he? :)
Amazing how he drifts past players so easily, just a shame he almost always runs into a brick wall in the end.

Having been brought up with left backs, centre-halves and inside rights etc, I've never really got the hang of all this 6 and 10 business. :) I just think in terms of position and role on the pitch.
Though it really boils my piss when commentators start using terms like quarter-back. Having still not caught up with the numbers thing, I'm in no position to tolerate having irrelevant Yank terminology thrown at me.

So what you’re saying is when we’re attacking you want TAA to drop back into defence so that Konate and Fabinho can do the attacking… makes sense.

No one’s saying no one should fill in, but why the **** do you want Trent to drop into cb when everyone has said he can’t defend and he’s best going forward.

Just absolute no logic to it.

like I said, de bruyne doesn’t drop in to cover Dias. Bruno doesn’t drop in to cover maguire. You don’t get your best creative player to drop in to cover defenders WHEN YOURE ATTACKING.

The whole point is to score a goal, no use sticking your most likely chance of creating that goal to drop In

Seriously don’t get how you think that is something klopp would want. can you imagine the outrage if we’re attacking and TAA is standing at CB while we try break down a team <laugh>

Watched it, funnily enough it’s Fabinho on the majority of cases, and sometimes Hendo that drops in. Exactly as it should be. Kind of proven my point there <laugh>

and the award for stupidly admitting he was wrong goes to.......

yes, yes the no 6 (single so stood central) or the rcm, closest player covered the right sided centre back.

    radical.
