Everyone is admired by the Liberal left for their patriotism EXCEPT the English.

 

You can be patriotic in whichever way you choose. Personally I think making excuses for the people who have worsened the country in every conceivable way and made the most vulnerable people in society poorer isn’t patriotism but each to their own.

 

I'm not fond of patriotism of any kind, really. It too often boils over into nationalism.

 

But that’s got **** all to do with people celebrating their patron Saint.

Obviously it’s a dig at the Tories. I don’t think a patriot could support them after what they’ve inflicted upon us but the self-proclaimed patriots generally do.
