Yesterday I was very negative about this game, but we are due a decent game. We have enough good players to give them a game if we turn up. It is a big if but I really hope we do something different today some sort of 4-3-3 even if it means playing Tanganga at left back. the shock of us picking a different formation might just surprise them.

We should try to get actually get some control in midfield and get our attacking players into the game. In recent years we have done OK at St James Park so lets hope that continues.

You've got a far superior attack and it'll show

Never thought I’d see the day! Assume Davies is not fit enough to start.

I think whatever slim chance we still have of top 4 is done if we lose today.

That's a very attacking line up Perisic and Porro as orthodox full backs scares the **** out of me with Dier in a 2 in the centre as well this won't be a goal less draw thats for sure.

That’s because 3-4-3 is hardcoded for spurs as no one ever thought it would change. You need bill gates computer knowledge to change it.

I had no intention to watch the game and having seen that team selection, I feel vindicated.

Enjoy the match lads, I admire your resilience <ok>

A must win game for Spurs.
So again, all about on-pitch mentality and tactics
(as it has been for the past few weeks) .

If the Toon have any nous, they will similarly
understand any result other than a loss will not
damage their top 4 target (and play accordingly) .

Any result today is a bonus. Changing our formation is a hopeful sign IMO on the basis that any change is better than continuing in the way we have.

A case of hoping we score more than we concede. Could be a high scoring game especially as we have Perisic at LB.

We've picked a very attacking team, so I assume we'll sit back and defend.

If that's the case Levy should have been on the phone to Ardiles

This is what alarms me. We've seemingly gone from one extreme to the other - on paper - but after four entire years of sitting back, it's almost muscle memory to these players by now. Stellini has said this explicitly in multiple conferences over the past few weeks, so his expectation that we'll be able to just flick a switch and magically change our entire philosophy is naive in the extreme.

For me, it all hinges on Sarr. He's the only real unknown out there (to us but more so to Newcastle) on the pitch. If he can control the midfield, it might work as it will free Porro and Perisic from showcasing how bad they are at defending. But that's a huge responsibility to place on his young shoulders.

Oi Danny Rose, this is Sky TV you’re appearing on, so why are you dressed as if you’re going to a fancy dress party?
