Every team time wastes every now and again, but Newcastle are the only one who practise it as part of their weekly training sessions.
My first thought on reading this page was I wonder if it's the lessor clubs that do it, cheating. It's something I'd expect to see in the lower leagues.
Then I thought how does that fit in with Newcastle, well Eddie Howe came from Bournemouth, and that is about the stretch of his managerial career, especially when compared to other top flight managers.
Then look at the other clubs near the bottom of that list Brentford, Brighton, Fulham...er Leeds
Not quite sure what Arsenal are doing down there, maybe it stacks up with all that diving they do
Although I see Man City keep the ball in play longest, but wasn't their failure in not winning Champions League put down to that they don't cheat and time waste enough, especially when playing clubs like Real Madrid.

Leeds are at the bottom of that list but rarely time waste through injuries etc, in fact every game at ER the crowd are screaming at the referee to make them get on with it. Far too much time wasted over every goal kick (shall we play short or not wastes 30 seconds every time), free kicks pissing about with the effing spray in wide areas when does it really matter the exact distance of one/two players in a faux wall. The referees can stop most of this with yellow cards but their own actions are often part of the problem as well.
It's worse in the championship by my experience. Premier league better quality players so the keep the ball moving better.
Championship has some proper cloggers.
Millwall, Blackpool, Stoke, Cardiff and Reading were notably bad. Time wasting from kick off, robbing paying supporters.

Howe is going to do everything he can to try and weasel his way into Top 4. He's been aiming for it since after the World Cup despite Munse and a couple of other Toon fans trying to play it down. He knows he has to be as underhand as possible to get there.
Top 10 finish will do us, we don't want to be having notions,now do we?
If all you wanted was top 10 you wouldn't be cheating.
I'm horrified by it all tbh.
