I dont like Wes Streeting much, after his poor comments about senility. But credit where it is due, I have liked some of what he has said recently. Back to a family doctor, yes please. Face to face appointments, yes please. He did slip in the fact it will take 10 years to get the NHS back to where it was under the last labour govt. You wont get 10 years Wes, and I am not so sure we want the NHS of 10 years ago either. Nevertheless, some good commitments which I can buy into. Still voting Lib Dem mind
Thats ridiculous, BBC are asking for trouble hiring anyone who is or was affiliated with any of the political parties. They will never bloody learn.
Is this realistically possible. Everyone and l mean EVERYONE has some form of partiality. To expect impartiality is beyond my comprehension. What do you want ? - other than deflection.
This is fair, although I am not deflecting. I dislike Labour and the Tories in equal measure at the moment. The BBC are meant to be impartial. Therefore they should at least recruit to the best standard of impartiality. In my opiniom anyway. Surely someone who has been so clearly associated with one party, and has publicly stated the other side cant be trusted, no matter how true, cant be a good choice for a political fact checker for an impartial organisation. Can they? Loads of candidates will be less obviously biased in my opinion.
«The BBC are meant to be impartial» you say. I refer you to the recent appointees to the highest echolons of party affilliated fellows. I mean the previously impartiallity of this institution has been greatly prostituted by the present regime. p.s. Please please don’t say « it would be worse IF the opposition/Corbyn had been in charge».
Strange that none of the many many Tories found to have done wrong ever admit they have. It is always someone else to blame. Is it a conspiracy ?
Why would I say that? I see no evidencd it would be any different, but cant be worse. Like I say, Labour / Tory, look pretty similar to me. I agree the BBC appoints poor people from an impartiality perspective. What people seem unwilling to debate is when it is Labour looking bad. Just want to deflect back to the tories it seems
The lack of Sunak comments on this, or low profile, probably indicates he's trying to keep the bin lid on this one
He has commented. Quite a bland comment, but he has nevertheless. Raab is trying to stir up a hornets nest. I suspect it is largely to make himself appear less angry than he is. But he is being quite incendiary nevertheless. Sunek, like him or not, has largely focussed on his job and tried to ignore the noise. Not a bad thing in my opinion, but he will be dragged down somewhat by this.
If I had to bet, it would all be going on not professional. Which seems to be the rule rather than the exception these days.
Why DEFLECT back to the tories ??? They are flaming there - in the forfront, in government, in power for Christs Sake. They have literally fecked up everything for the last decade. No ddflection is needed in this regard. FFS give the opposition a bloody go - nobody snd l mean NOBODY . not even my ma-in-law could do worse. Please please fon’t insult everyones intelligence by mentioning Corbyn.
Spoiler Alert. If you dont like a challenge to the Labour party, stop reading. If you dont like any criticism of historic labour behaviour, dont read on. For me though, it is really interesting to consider the behaviour of the current opposition as opposed to their behaviour when last in power. After all they are about to become those who govern us all... I was reading Raabs letter with disdain. But I was struck by his clear attack on Angela Rayner. She called him a thug and suggested he threw things, intimidated etc. However, I was thinking back to Gordon Browns time as PMs and the stories that surrounded his alleged behaviour. It ranged from throwing phones and staplers, to physical threats and to extraordinary shouty outbursts towards his aids. All of the things Angela finds offensive about the claims against Dom, but which dont appear to have been proven. Now Angela is switching attack to Sunak, and ignoring her seemingly false accusations, but then we know sorry is the hardeat word for her. All this when Gordon Brown is apparently playing a key part in Labour policy. It seems like Labour, once again, have no memory of their past failures, which makes me think they will be as inept a government as the current shower. If the labour party language of late does not breach the bullying guidelines outlines against Dom then I would be staggered. We are lurching from one bunch of people we cant rely on or trust, to another. In my opinion. What a time to be alive.
You seem obsessed with Corbyn. Why is he relevant? I have not mentioned him, but you seem to keep bringing him in.
