Anyway banter aside, what the fook was the keeper playing at putting Maguire in that situation, he was surrounded by 3 Seville players ffs.
Agree

Maguire asked for the ball and stood still with his back facing the opposition. That's the keeper ffs, Maguire was ****ing surrounded and he still passed to him.

I wonder if Gareth has figured out Maguire is **** yet.
If you call for the ball it’s on you. Just afterwards Sevilla played the ball through you could clearly see De Gea call for the ball and Maguire booted it clear but nearly caused a mix-up in the process. He’s a bag of nerves and clearly not switched on.... which is why the keeper should have taken a safer option tbf ... all very well Maguire wanting to show 'leadership' ... but ...

You’ll never have a better chance to win a European trophy.lol, ffs

It was but he’s a keeper. If a defender and the captain at that is saying ‘I’ll have it’ then he’s going to play it into him. If Maguire had his body half turned he would have seen the danger and not made the call or he would have received seen the danger and quickly played the ball away from the rushing forwards. It’s Maguire at fault, for me.Don't disagree with that ...but in my own playing days there were occasions when you had more than one player calling for the pill and you wouldn't just pass it to the one shouting he loudest... you'd judge who was best placed to receive it at that moment ... and that was a daft pass from the keeper ...
Yeah, most champions league clubs would want to avoid Fiorentina, at the moment. They’re on fire.Yeah, not convinced Nice or Alkmaar are great teams so it's just Fiorentina to beat probably. Oh and Gent of course.

Just seen it again and it’s 100% Maguires fault. De Gea played the ball through the Sevilla forwards and Maguire just needed to turn with the ball but instead he played a stupid sideways miss-hit pass which Sevilla intercepted and went on to score from.Opposition De Gea could see and so should have ignored Maguire, regardless of whether he's captain or not.
De Gea could see the danger and still did it, equally culpable at least, more so probably.
If anything, it's the person who coaches them to do this bullshit risky tactic constantly that's fully culpable.
