Hope you've heard wrong, ridiculous that he's taking up money, squad space and a non-HG spot too

I have given up trying to figure out FSG logic. It was very obvious we needed investment in midfield last Summer, before the dreadful season started. No investment in midfield was forthcoming. I don’t really buy the Tchoumani or whatever his name is story, top teams don’t have just one target and spit the dummy out if they don’t get their man

if you count Elliott then sure why not.

that was the season to push on 2019. the fact is we were blowing out our arses by the last 16 of the cl and then covid happened

the following season was **** for different reasons but there you go.

by holding onto certain players for so long we ended up with a massive squad but on that still can't cope and now it's gp8ng to disintegrate.

We had three CM targets, none of them materialised.

I really don't get this obsession with 'spend money at all cost' approach some seem to have. I love that we'd rather wait for the right player, it's the right way to do it even if it means we suffer in the short term. Hate wasting money

I'll agree we won the cl then spent 1.9mil on sepp van den berg and sold several players so we could afford minamino that January:)

we made a nice profit after winning the cl that year.

I hope you'll agree that by stepping past pedantic arguments about wording, we can come to the conclusion that spend was insignificant enough to start us down the path of players aging out and dead wood not being dispensed with ruthlessly.

    temperate wise.

Their summers are prob about high 30s compared to our 20s. Their winter temp is prob about same temp as our summer

I'll agree if people will stop saying we don't spend when we demonstrably have even if it was to a restrictive budget and people also recognise the size of our wage bill which is actually more relevant in financial terms than the transfer spending .

Again, why do people listen to what Klopp says when it comes to transfer activity? He's hardly likely to say he's pissed off or we failed to do what he wanted is he? Not is he going to tell the opposition our plans.

for the most part I’d agree, but he has been open in the past about wanting to do something but the right player not being available

Of course they do debt. They don’t leverage every penny against the club, that’s true, but it is wildly inaccurate to suggest they don’t do debt. Now they will borrow (or lend to LFC) to invest. They’d be stupid if they didn’t!

wage bill is 4th largest and locked in players
OK, they do not allow lfc to run up debt. they loaned the main stand money to us as we had no means to get 120mil at that point. they have then sold melwood for Kirkby and waited until it was all done to start anfield road end.

if they did debt they'd have thrown the whole damned thing up in one do and have been done with it years ago.

they've taken short term covid option out and paid it all back.

spurs refinanced their entire damned toilet bowl off the government coivd deal. our lot didn't even take the ultra cheap never again to be seen options.

Ah, ok. I thought it was some strange new geographical arrangement you'd proposed.

because they were gearing up to sell. Top team, top facilities, no debt = max return. The problem is that we are no longer a top team - so they will need to invest (or sell at a lower price).
