40 million for Meslier has been said today.

40 million for Gnonto also reported today.

Newcastle want Koch. It will be more than the 13 million we paid for him.
And what do you replace them with. Someone who’ll cost more thus maybe strengthen the squad or kids from the academy who’ll possibly weaken it. Selling your best will never never improve the squad. We need dramatic improvement

I agree. Just playing devil's advocate.

Orta has had some shockers but he's also had some great buys too.

Struijk cost less than 1 million.
Gelhardt cost less than 1 million.
Sam Greenwood cost 3 million.
Dramah cost 1 million.

If we sold all of those you'd be looking between 20-30 million from a 6 million outlay.

Bet 365 have Southampton and Forest as almost certainly going down.

That leaves Leicester, Everton, Bournemouth and us for the final spot.

Possibly. Who is gonna take them. They are on huge wages and have just been bottom of the league for two seasons.

I think a few of them would be forced to stay here due to limited options.
Forcing players stopped years ago. They would force a move so as not to get a, wage cut. Look at Burnley they got a whole new side but kept barnes but he is 33 now. So i reckon we would be stuck with Bamford due to his dodgy fitness.

We're not going down.

Keep the faith brother Wakey that there'll be 3 worse teams than us <ok>
Southampton, Forrest, and i am struggling for the third, i have a feeling Leicester will have a mini revival which would see them over the line, as they now have that sh** smith in charge, Everton i just cannot see going down, that i guess just leaves Bournemouth, a side capable (which we are not) of pulling off the odd shock result or two, going down to the wire whatever happens, and i for one wouldn't bet on the outcome. :emoticon-0107-sweat

To be fair, we beat Liverpool at Anfield but that was under a different manager.

Yep conceding too many goals is the major concern so we'll have to get back to the basics of shape and positioning.
Totally agree, the one thing in our favour, at this end of the table, was our goal difference, but this is rapidly diminishing with the couple of tonkings, we have taken recently.

Orta just needs to hope we stay up, 49ers buy the club and then repeat buying a Gnonto, Meslier, Raphinha, Sinisterra to bolt on top of the existing players which we want to keep, which in turn keeps Eire happy as we haven’t sold our better players and actually improved the squad to ensure no worries next season…. It’s easy

Not sure what Eire wants to be honest Doc.

Champions League maybe ?

Even then who knows.

Clearly we need pace at the back but look at Chelsea spending £200/300 million on defenders and still crap.
