It’s amazing how football makes some people complete and utter morons. Talking about something happening between a linesman and a defender and suddenly it’s all about Liverpool fans apparently causing the deaths of 97 fans despite all the stuff that’s happened over last few years
No, we wouldn't stereotype like that - anyway, the lino just assumed Robertson was trying to steal his flag. Simple misunderstanding.
Me and Toonarmy have had our problems, but he didn't mention Hillsborough once. What a weird direction to take that.
You both need to educate yourself because the chant ‘always the victims’ is strongly associated with hillsborough. If in doubt, try googling it
Or you can stop whinging, say "oh he didn't mean it, no harm done." And ironically stop acting the victim. Just a suggestion like.
What you on about? Who didn’t mean what? Like I said always the victim is a chant that is sung at lfc fans about hillsborough. If you need to sink to that level then you bit of a pathetic human being really.
Lol, alright. Name who here sunk to the level of laughing about Hillsborough; cos @ToonArmy1892 didn't nor did anyone else. You just felt the need to bring it up.
The main thing i think about is the Suarez warm up shirts v Southampton. And just the way they go on in general tbh. Biscan is the one showing himself up here, no one else.
Let them squabble over linesman shenanigans. Who cares? We have arrived! The start of our Premier League domination has begun. We are Ozymandias, King of Kings!! But of a Shelley reference for those who know their poetry.
You are digging yourself a bigger hole with each comment. So now you think this is just an innocent coming together of two people as they walk in different directions to exit the pitch at half time. How come you don't see collisions like this on a regular basis? I can't believe that you think its reasonable to assume that Robertson was not trying to get in the linesman's face about the earlier decision that he was arguing with him about. While they are moving in opposite directions, Robertson clearly approaches the linesman and sparks the reaction from the linesman. The comment on the fact that you talk to officials during a game to develop a relationship with them probably happens in about 10% of cases in the Premier League. The other 90% are players arguing about decisions, wanting clarification etc. The referee doesn't need to interact with them at all. The relationship between players and officials has deteriorated into one of continuous conflict. The only way to stop this is to cut out the interaction. Referees should only talk to players to warn them about behaviour and discipline them. Players shouldn't be talking to officials full stop.
Gotta say I completely disagree with this. Being able to have a friendly discussion with the ref allows for more understanding of decisions being made and a greater respect between officials and players. Robotic refs that ignore players completely doesn't help iny opinion. Instead get the refs mic'd up let us see and hear the interactions between refs, var and players and crack down on dissent. Also reiterate that surrounding the ref is a form of dissent and anything like that will result in a yellow card. For this incident if Robertson and the linesman had had a civil conversation about a decision there would not be all this nonsense
And if that’s what they were doing I agree with you. But it’s not. The interactions are all about trying to influence decisions, express anger at the decisions and generally disagree. It’s a completely pointless exercise that wastes time and stops the flow of the game. Once the players can accept the decisions and start treating the officials with respect then maybe they can have more interaction. Civil discussions only work if both parties are willing to do that. The majority of interactions between officials and players you see, the players are not able to do that. So for now I think a more hardline approach is required.
