    Just to get some understanding of this situation,is this a total outlay of £40 million for a player who has played 48 minutes football?

    Can anyone shed any light on this in layman's terms?

    Confused,Glasgow...

    They had him on loan, but the terms of the loan agreement stated that Leeds were obliged to sign him permanently if they got promoted to the Premier League (for £17.4m). Leeds refused to sign him permanently, trying to get out of it on a technicality, but lost the case and have been ordered to pay (£18.4m).

    I'm not sure about the other £15.5m to Leipzig, it seems rather unlikely that they paid a loan fee that big, they'd have just signed him permanently in the first place.

    Wrexham are on 103 points and Notts Country are on 100.

    Imagine getting over 100 points and not getting automatic promotion!

    If you read the article it states that they were told by FIFA to pay the full amount of the loan but settled after discussions with Leipzig for £15.5 . Nothing not to be sure about.

    The whole thing is hilarious. Leeds thought they could wriggle out of it and have come a cropper.
