I've just driven back from Wakefield. The M62 is closed West from I think junction 31. When I passed there was a Highways England vehicle with Emergency Bridge Expansion Joint on the side. This part of the motorway if you know it goes over a small valley. If it is a bigger problem it could cause major issues. The tailback was 3.3 miles toward Ferrybridge. As I was further along, HE trucks with cones were waiting roadside and a couple of Police cars flew by. If youre going that way, maybe check out whats going on!!

Thanks for this. In Driff at the moment and I wondered why sat nav was taking me a weird route back to Manchester later today.

Just before the Humber Bridge there are signs saying that the M62 is closed between junctions 30 - 31
