Friars Crag's not far from Keswick worth a visit for the scenery
Funny you should mention that place, me and the Mrs used to go to Castlerigg campsite just down from there, about fifteen minute walk.
Three Easter's in a row before we had kids and that.
There's a bar in the Castlerigg Hotel called the Crag bar, used to love that place.
Spent many a weekend as a kid in Keswick too.
Nice easy walk round the lake.
Although some great hills above of course.

Keswick is a bit built up for my liking.... not saying it's not a nice place , but I don't see it in the same light as kendal windermere or Ambleside.
Beautiful part of the country, was around there a lot in the 90's early 00's, as you said, great walking country. Used to a fair bit of diving there too, a few times we did some work for insurance companies, retrieving stolen cars out of the lakes. Hodges Close was a favourite place for them to be dumped and a bastard to get out.

That's twice today I've walked into stuff like that, I thought the first was bad enough, but that was aiming for new heights.
I'm not even looking for it, I just saw the title come up on the site home page, and you responding, I'm like what's going on in here.
