What did he do that was good? Comparied with George Bush, Trump is shocking. Shall we start with him ripping up the Paris Accord on climate change!! Shall we continue with his idea of teachers being armed in the classroom. What about his tax cuts that the US Treasury could not afford?
Well yes, leaving the Paris accord was a fantastic thing. These globalist organisations pretend there is a climate crisis in order to curtail freedoms & extract wealth from the people. But aside from that; he didn’t start any wars. In fact he de-escalated most hostile situations. He was winning the trade war with China and ultimately securing the US as a global leader again. He was trying to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US. There were obviously many faults with his presidency. I agree he was dislikable, rude and basically it’s a joke that he was ever president. It’s a damning sign that democracy is failing. But I would still take him over Biden in a heartbeat. Bidens incompetence is staggering to me.
He wanted to nuke various countries (and weather formations), and has made it known that if he is the president again, he will invade Mexico. https://www.vanityfair.com/news/202...ed-to-nuke-north-korea-and-blame-someone-else https://www.nbcnews.com/news/milita...using-nuclear-weapons-war-china-book-n1279187 https://www.axios.com/2019/08/25/trump-nuclear-bombs-hurricanes https://www.rollingstone.com/politi...ico-military-cartels-war-on-drugs-1234705804/
Ffs mate. Sorry but anyone who doesn’t believe in the environmental crisis at this point is not worth my time. Also, still take him??? He isn’t your political leader. You live in the UK…
As a climate change scientist these kinds of comments are depressing. I can assure I have no ulterior motive, however many of those deniers are bank rolled by fossil fuel corporations and certainly have more to lose. I don't see why we wouldn't want to improve our air quality or use energy more sustainably. It could easily be done but politics and lobbying gets in the way of everyone's interests.
More joys of brexshit with hours of delay at Dover. The UK government that insisted on the border controls will be blaming the French. https://news.sky.com/story/port-of-...er-high-levels-of-traffic-and-delays-12846826 https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-65143093 https://www.bloomberg.com/en/news/t...s-coach-traffic-suffers-long-delays#xj4y7vzkg
Os, I know this is your opinion and I respect that (lol not in the Nathan Jones 'With greatest respect' vibe). However, My highlighted points are just some of the content of your post I feel I have to comment on. "These globalist organisations pretend there is a climate crisis in order to curtail freedoms & extract wealth from the people." There is a climate crisis going on. There is no pretend about it. Those that say there isn't are normally those that have a lot to lose by converting to more sustainable fuels - Oil companies and so on. Oh and political leaders bankrolled by them. I am 53, so I think I will be ok, but my 5 & 7 year old grandkids probably won't. The old argument that the world heats up and cools down 'naturally' overtime is true. However, we humans are doing it this time, not nature. We are accelerating it. IMO of course. And scientists with no agenda. "But aside from that; he didn’t start any wars." He didn't start any world wars, but lit the torch for the current anarchy that is being taken as the norm in the US. I worry for my daughter and grandkids over there, and every week we ask her if she would like to come 'home' with her husband and kids and bring them up over here. Yep even in this mess we are in, we are in a better place than the US. "There were obviously many faults with his presidency." Do you have a degree in understating the obvious? But I would still take him over Biden in a heartbeat. This is a tricky one, and you almost have me onside. I would have a normal Republican in charge over Biden. However, to me, the risk of this total renegade madman (Trump) out ways Biden's faults. It is refreshing to have a decent human being in charge of the US, rather than a narcissistic man, who looks out for himself only. It is all about opinions, and I am not saying you are wrong (as that is my opinion), but please look at more diverse media outlets to look at all angles. Edit: I am not patronising you either and hope it doesn’t come across that way.
B You hit upon a pretty key point in there - “who looks out for himself only”. This more than anything is the main issue with Trump. I appreciate you need a certain amount of ego to go into politics because it is a rather terrible job for the most part (people used to ask me if I wanted to due to my interest in the area but I just don’t have the ego required). But Trump takes it to a whole other level There were so many of his actions in office were so blatantly about promoting his own self interest, and not at all as he and his slogan claim, America’s interest. You just need to look at things like how much federal money went toward security for him due to all his golf trips (where they were charged to stay at his own resorts) or when all the diplomats had to stay in Trump hotels Or even how he rushed to take the vaccine whilst allowing the politicians and talking heads from his own side to convince people they shouldn’t (and far worse things about it such as it genetically altering you)
In all honesty, I’d rather not go back into the climate change thing again. People will just start throwing insults as usual. But please; don’t assume that I have read less than you or anyone else on this topic. For some reason everyone on here equates having a different opinion to the mainstream to being an idiot. I assure you, I’ve likely read more books and studied harder than the majority in here. There are many credible scientists and climatologists that disagree that there is a climate crisis; they just get no air time in the media. For me; whether climate change actually exists is almost a seperate point. My real issue is the way politicians, corporations and institutions are hyping up the hysteria of a “climate crisis” in order to tax more and pass ridiculously authoritarian laws. “The Climate” has become a useful buzz word to pass laws and enact reforms which benefit the elite class over the working class. (For example; these ‘15 minute city’s’, the ULEZ, etc, etc). If they manage to bring in CBDC’s, which looks like the next big push from the bureaucratic class, they will be able to arbitrarily decide what people can spend their money on.. and “the climate” is a perfect justification for all manner of potential evils. I am mostly sick of being preached at and charged unbelievably high taxes by the hypocrites in charge. For example; Biden pretends to be this caring old grandpa that loves the environment. But he brings a 75 motorcade everywhere he goes and a host of private jets and helicopters. They try and convince us (the working/middle class) that we are the problem. But their decisions cause more carbon emissions in a single day than me in a decade. I refuse to listen to them.
Do scientists agree on climate change? Yes, the vast majority of actively publishing climate scientists – 97 percent – agree that humans are causing global warming and climate change. Most of the leading science organizations around the world have issued public statements expressing this, including international and U.S. science academies, the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and a whole host of reputable scientific bodies around the world. A list of these organizations is provided here https://climate.nasa.gov/faq/17/do-scientists-agree-on-climate-change/ " topics have been studied thoroughly and debunked over and over again by climate scientists. Nevertheless these myths persist, often as a result of an organized disinformation campaign waged by special interests whose goal is to raise doubts among the public and delay action on human-caused climate change." https://www.cbsnews.com/news/climate-change-myths-what-science-really-says/
I thought spaffer might be up there too but realised he's in the process of disappearing up his own arse to keep Mistruss company.
Another example of manipulating survey results and then manipulating the data: https://www.fraserinstitute.org/art...ate-scientists-many-misunderstand-core-issues I basically don’t trust any of the sources you pointed to. As I mentioned, it’s in the bureaucratic classes best interests to pretend there is a huge climate crisis. Most of them don’t even believe it themselves; you can tell this from watching how they behave instead of what they say. For example; buying houses on the coast in low lying areas, flying private jets & creating more emissions per day than you or I do in a year. They are all lying hypocrites who want everyone else to feel guilty about using energy & having children. Well.. I don’t. Their anti-human depopulation agenda can be totally ignored.
Fraser institute is a right wing libertarian think tank funded by the Koch bros and Exxon Mobile amongst other fossil fuel interests.
You don't have to trust any sources to establish climate change is real. You can physically notice it, particularly if you go abroad.
The added nuance that was originally absent really does fundamentally change what you were originally saying. Note that it was no accident that people took your original posts as you saying that you didn’t believe in the issue. Because it wasn’t clear. Separating climate change and “the climate crisis” in the way you did above is not something everyone does. You aren’t wrong in that us regular people in the U.K. recycling a few extra bottles and doing fewer car journeys won’t make any difference at all. But that didn’t appear to be the point you were initially making. Especially as we were talking about the Paris stuff - an international agreement with discussions on emissions at a country level - which could, in theory, make a difference All that said - if you have to tell everyone that you are better read than them then that too is also likely for a good reason. Because it simply does not come across that way. Especially when despite all this reading you just default to the arguments of a group of commentators from one side of the political spectrum and show now evidence that you even listen to the other side - let alone try to comprehend their arguments. Equally, doing lots of reading is pointless if you only read things that back up your opinion But I just got a flash of the Joffrey and Tywin scene. J: “I am the King!” T: “Any man who must say “I am the king” is no true king”
I was only saying that because people on here have a tendency to sling insults and assume people are dumb if someone is right of centre. I just want to point out that there are many good, intelligent people on the right as well. Just because someone has different opinions on a topic doesn’t instantly make them stupid.
