Doubt it tbh. Dortmund's model relies on them selling high. Last season they didn't want to sell Haaland and Bellingham in one summer, and while Bellingham's price has only risen since, it's difficult to see it getting much bigger. There's also currently no-one else in the squad who would get anywhere near that value, though Moukoko could be the big one next year if he continues developing after his injury.

yeah but I don't actually think dortmund actually need to sell that much and generate players just to sell. they have plenty of cash.

if someone is throwing mounds of cash at you and you won't pay the wages these players and agents want then you have to just take the cash

the model dortmund have is really attracting players like haaland for the few years. stop selling and that route gets cut off by agents fearing for their quick killing.

Bellingham will be sold. there is no question of that. it's merely destination

If we buy Bellingham, I’ll eat my hat, which would be a real f*cker as my digestive system has only just recovered from signing vvd

At £150million, I should think not! We need to replace too many players to be spending £150million on one player whose contract expires next season. If he wants us, he can wait a year, shame he won't ever qualify as Home Grown then, but that is not worth that much.

You would think so, but if Dortmund try sticking to their guns with their new valuation and would-be suitors spend their money elsewhere as a result, Dortmund could be left with a resentful Bellingham on their books in September. If United or PSG were the only clubs willing to spend the asking price, they can't force him to go to a club he doesn't want to go to, he could run his contract out.

If Dortmund declare no less than £150mill and Real Madrid, Liverpool, or anywhere else he might like to go refuse to pay that much, and spend their transfer money elsewhere, Dortmund can't say on August 29th "OK, you can have him for £100mill" because then the money will already have been spent.

I think a game of transfer chicken might work out bad in Dortmund's case.

I think they'll listen to all offers and just ask is that really your best offer.

I don't think they really have a number or red line. I think they are more likely to set a time deadline and have done in the past.

they main thing I think is that if you look at their squad there's a few younger players there but none at this level. malen, akeyemi and moukoko will be their next projects. I think they'll want to reinvest again.

    Contract doesn’t expire next year?

And if we spend £150m on him and still buy another CM and Cb/RB then is it ok?

Well I have said fairly consistently our budget looks to be 50mil a year net

I stand by that on that evidence. if we spend more we are borrowing it from future transfer years.

it's really that simple. other clubs are running up debts, look at spurs. look at how arsenal's cash at hand has dwindled to nothing funding that splurge that's got them up there.

look at man utd debt. yet fans just dmenad more and more and angrily accuse glaziers of this and that then turn on managers but never players. long may it continue.

the simple fact is eventually clubs will have to fold if they keep running these debts. valencia is the warning for big clubs
