I agree, managers teach them things, get them into a shape a formation, try and get something out of them. But ultimately it's been proven time and time again, it's all about desire. Klopp said it best tbh, I was a brilliant manager last season, now I am suddenly a bad manager. Ok, if that's what you want to think, if that's how you think it works. I do think a manager brings in a lot to a club and a brilliant manager see's an instant improvement, but time and again it's about those players buying into that coach.
Definitely fits that criteria like, have a strong suspicion that Trippier is the vocal one in the dressing room and Howe uses him to get at the players.
I know he won the league, but he was sacked the following season with them in like 13th. He had an identical time at Chelsea as Mourinho's second spell. he's then had an identical time at Spurs as Mourinho too lol I just read he got a £26m pay off at Chelsea ****ing hell
I'm not defending the bloke (he's a ****ing arse of a man) but he usually wins something. Same with Jose. The common denominator is.......... *Unless that was your point and I missed it of course!!
No? I forgot it was even on tbph. I was thinking of getting a viaplay subscription today (14.99 pm with Prime), but couldn't be arsed as I've watched enough footie. It was only to give me something to watch for the next couple of international weeks.
Personally speaking I am against Levy having anything to do with having a say in footballing matters and have been since he sacked Pochettino. Choosing managers like Maureen and Conte who demand ready made experienced players and then not buying who they wanted cos of the costs is plainly ****ing stupid. Levy is ****ing awful at choosing and sacking managersyet he is repeating exactly the same mistake again. We need to either employ a manager with a long term strategy and give them the time and young players he can mould and a few experienced players to guide them (like Jol, Pochettino and to a lesser extent Redknapp did) or we employ another manager who wants a **** load to buy a team and give him the money he wants. Hardly rocket science tbf The full list of Levy appointments Hoddle (known to be a terrible man manager at Swindon, Chelsea, England and Southampton) Pleat (an 8 month care taker ffs) Santini (known for boring football and lasted 3 months) Jol (Levy was persuade by Arnesen to employ him...massively improved us and was then treated like **** when sacked) Ramos (36 league games 10 wins) Redknapp (good choice for us) AVB (**** right off) Sherwood (6 month caretaker & total twat) Pochettino (excellent but treatedlike Jol at the end) Maureen (predictable **** but only sacked right before a cup final to take heat off Levy for the ESL **** up...should have been sacked 3 months earlier for boring everyone ****less) Mason (7 game caretaker cos we didn't have a plan B even though it had been obvious for 3 months that Maureen would need to go) After a 12 week wait we got... Nuno () Conte (want him to go against everything he is as a manager and act like Pochettino ffs)
