Taffy and sheep are laying into our merry band.......on the takeover thread<doh>.
I know we should have kept our bid more private.

No US billionaires over here. We could probably manage a non-refundable deposit of about £20 at a push.
Has Thomas been back in touch with us yet?

It's nice though that many folks on ITTV - a forum about ten times the size of this one if measured by active contributing members - are still interested in what we're saying here. We're absolutley no threat to them or anybody else, and we only mock what is already plainly ridiculous.
When the ringleaders there give up saying laughable things, we'll give up laughing.

There is a kind of parallel, if I say it myself.

Around six weeks ago I made a reference to the ultimate consequence of a culture where a person or people are vilified to the point where it's regarded as OK to want them to come to harm. As in Reams wishing that somebody would teach TS or his son a lesson down a dark alley.

Gary Lineker took exception to the tone of language used by some people in the Government about migrants (I believe he had Suella Braverman in mind) and he likened it to attitudes encouraged in Germany during the 1930's.

For mentioning Holocaust Memorial Day in my criticism of Ream's posted wish for TS or his son to be hurt, I was branded an anti-Semite by DickPlumb who backed the manufactured outrage expressed by IA that I had insulted Holocaust victims by comparing Nazi persecution of Jews to Reams wishing physical harm upon Thomas Sandgaard and his son.

Gary Lineker has been accused by some, including Suella Braverman I believe, of de-valuing the memory of Holocaust victims by making a comparison between the latest Government policies to deal with illegal migrants to what was happening in 1930's Germany. Some have said he has insulted Holocaust victims. And I imagine some people on social media have taken the next step and labelled Lineker as an anti-Semite.

In my opinion Reams has been dehumanising Sandgaard in order to make it OK for somebody to beat him up. In Gary Lineker's opinion some people in the Government are dehumanising illegal migrants in order to make it OK to deny them any rights as refugees and get them out of the UK quickly and quietly in the future. Those two things aren't the same of course. But they are in my view examples of the same attitude.

I'm not comparing myself with Gary Lineker. I have nothing in common with him at all, apart from we have both challenged something we believe is wrong, and have both been cancelled for doing so.
The BBC had no problem with Lineker when he criticised the human rights record in Qatar.
He was seemingly the face that fitted the BBC perfectly when he did that.

Now he's said something he wasn't supposed to say.
Standing by him (as many of his colleagues have) does not automatically mean they agree with what he said.
But they agree with his right to say it.
Free speech should always be respected as long as it is not abused to incite violence.

He's left ITTV again?
I doubt he'll be missed much, though he'll be back after the summer I expect. Maybe with a new name. He tends to disappear anyway in the closed season to follow cricket I think - and lets face it, Charlton's season is effectively over.

Maybe he'll pop up on Royston & Dick's new forum :emoticon-0145-shake

By the way, looks like PL54 has re-appeared on there? (newest member)...
