Yet he is one of the few people who brings money in for the TV company he works for. Most presenters make no difference to the viewing figures of what he is fronting.I am sure his bellend detector antenna would be pinging in the vicinity of some on here.
Plenty of bellends to watch Clarkson's programmes ;)

  1. Several BBC TV and radio sports shows have been pulled at the last minute, including Football Focus, Final Score and Fighting Talk (BBC webpage)

Haven't watched Motd in ages...Got sick of a bunch of talking heads discussing the bleeding obvious...If half of them were so good on tactics etc..etc...why aren't they out their earning their corn managing sides...Oh yeah, some of them tried that and failed eg Shearer...Might watch it tonight to see some football, might be novel.

Lineker, like Rashford and Thunberg, is a brilliantly effective detector of bellends. Hated by so many for saying perfectly reasonable things.

The BBC is, or should be, a wonderful institution for this country to be proud of. The recent Borisification of it, to the point that its management is now very obviously just cutting out anti-government voices when asked to, really should be a source of national shame.
But the cutting out of anti government voices have been going on whatever the government of the day is. The BBC is supposed to be impartial and that particularly applies to its highest paid presenter. If Lineker doesn’t like the constraints of his contract he should decline to accept its money, but being a total hypocrite he won’t have the moral decency to do so.
Being impartial is the bedrock of the BBC, for its star presenter to compare government policy to 1930’s Germany is a blatant breach. If he called a Labour policy as being akin to 1930’s Stalin he would be just as guilty. I’ve no problem with his tweets, I’m occasionally sympathetic to his views, but he can’t expect to so blatantly break the rules and still expect the BBC to pay him.

Good post.

Will anyone actually miss the school of the blaringly obvious punditry of match of the day apart from the presenters on their inflated fees?

Yes it's an institution. I skip most of the analysis slots on iplayer :emoticon-0100-smile

I honestly don't get why people are siding with Liniker.
I don't agree with some of his views but of course he's entitled to an opinion.
It's nothing to do with his political biases, the simple fact is that in a position like his, especially these days, you can't come out with utter garbage comparing the government to the Nazis and expect to get away with it. He's an idiot for doing so, and I'm glad he's been removed.

During the hieght of the Black Lives Matter protests one local BBC radio presenter was guest speaker at a BLM protest meeting on Queens Gardens in Hull. He was introduced on stage as 'BBC's....' Even Look North covered it. No-one batted an eyelid around here.

I would go one further and sack all of em who are refusing to do their "jobs".....most of us would get the tin tack for refusing to work

Clarkson was the biggest star on the BBC and they cancelled him. Good excuse for BBC to get rid of their highest earner. Sad the other pundits are too stupid to realise they can easily be replaced much cheaper

Replaced with who exactly? Don't think they're the stupid ones here.

Probably because he's been banished by his employer despite not contravening the terms of his employment. Plus the fact that what he's said is eminently reasonable, and backed up by actual Holocaust survivors. But hey, no idea why people are siding with him.

Well done, you've found a person, one who understandably carries deep scars, who sort of makes similar comments. That doesn't legitemise anything.
Look, it's simple, in his position you simply can't go round talking **** like that (comparing us to Nazi Germany). He's an idiot for thinking he can ....never mind that if you stop and think about it for even one second the situations are anyway totally incomparable and the accusations simply ridiculous.
