I'll have to put the bairns ticket on his phone and mine because he plays games and watches YouTube on his before the match and it's gone flat a load of times.

Assume this is the same for away tickets as well being digital. We have banned power banks for aways so if they have travelled from the arse end of the country and their phone goes flat they are ****ed

Who is saying they can't cope? Why should they have to go out and specifically buy a smart phone, if they don't already have one, to attend games, regardless of whether they can use one or not.

They don't have to, only if they want to go to games.

I'd love to hear from an actual "elderly person" (as you refer to them) and see what they think about this - instead of this cry baby posting from you who I'm sure has a smart phone so, like me is "alright jack"

I would love to know how an elderly person with no access to the internet or a smart phone is going to come on here to tell you their experiences of digital exclusion <laugh> Maybe I am not selfish. What next, you have to have a "smart phone" to claim your pension, to go to the pub, to buy groceries? Thin end of a wedge.

It'll be a QR code. Anyone with elderly or none tech savvy people that they know that aren't comfortable with the new way,print it off for them on a credit card size bit of paper, laminate it, pop it in their wallets, Simple.

I'm surprised because Davison likes to 'look into' a lot of things but when he actually makes a decision it ends up being a clusterfuck like when he was putting the prices up before KLD stepped in.

If it was me, I'd have digital tickets, physical season cards, cash accepted in the SoL and ticket office as well as contactless payments. I'd have a cash/pay on the day turnstile open for walk ups as well.

If they want to save plastic they should do away with those ****ty pint pots the piss is served in inside the stadium and do what they do at the cricket. Its a thicker plastic but you pay a quid more for the first pint and take it back for a refill then get your quid back if you hand it back in at the end of the game, or take the cup home and then take it back to the next match.

Aye it will be a QR code for the slot in the turnstile not an NFC contactless digital ticket.

Yep. Looks like I'm going to have to buy a phone to stick in the draw for when I go to games. What's the cheapest you can pay for an old smartphone these days?
