My only concern is we have to offload Keita, Ox... Milner may retire. Melo is going to go sit on a medical bench somewhere else. Fabio and Elliot don't really work as well in midfield and have to be considered forwards instead. Fabio may go on loan as a result. That's a lot of "midfielders" who potentially could potentially not be at the club next season. Fabinho is someone I think we could improve upon, but we're already potentially looking at massive upheaval. So yes, in theory I think Fabs for £40mil is a good price, but it worries me how much needs to change already in midfield even if he stays.
I'd like to see him get back to something approaching his best, but is it likely? He was never the fastest, and probably can't afford a slight drop in pace that quicker players can get away with. Seems he's committing more bookable fouls as a result. I can't see us ever getting a better offer if it's true, his value will surely only drop the longer he goes on. If we could line-up an as yet relatively unknown replacement then it would be worth selling, but we can't afford to further deplete an area where we're already lacking.
I love Fabinho and he's been crucial to our success - but I think we do have to be ruthless and offload. I feel they injuries from the past two years have ruined him now, and he's even slower than before. Maybe you can put two runners next to him but we'll be in a position where we have to carry him which is never good. The guy has carried our midfield for years.

imo keita already has his offers in front of him. he was playing around January like it mattered but his gave v palace was disgusting. I think he wasn't interested and should not play one second more for us.
