Sad news of a football TV legend, RIP John

 

That is such sad news. I just hope they bury him with his characteristic sheepskin coat. RIP John, consummate professional

 

Ffs sickener, 77 not that old really. Along with Brian Moore the greatest football commentator ever. So many memories from him, as another icon from my growing up passes to the other side ! RIP legend

 

Wow! I’m shocked. A true bastion of commentating. Old school who knew his stuff, was humble and knew how to have a laugh. RIP Mr Motson

Wow - shocked at this. Good old Mottie, man of many gaffes, but boy did he love his football (almost as much as he loved his sheepskin coat). RIP the voice of football

 

Only just seen that Motson has died. Very sad. Happy for him that he spent his last evening in the pub, watching the game he loved and contributed so much of his passion to;

Why do you say he was a bully, because he called out liars and BS.

 

Because he was found to be a serial bully and a liar by an independent enquiry in 2022, and was suspended from the Labour Party and expelled from Parliament for life
