yeah, 2005/6 I think, it was a great show, shame the BBC shat their pants at the cost and got it cancelled. worth seeing it for James Purefoy as Mark Anthony alone.

Yeh I remember it. Very good, only one season iirc? I was surprised they didn't make more as I thought it was really well made. Might have to take another look for Condon though.

2 seasons, was supposed to be 5, but the BBC shat their pants at the cost, so crammed what was to be 2&3 into the second season and cancelled it. the ****s.

Right you film buffs, a question for you which was posed to my sister today.

Has there ever been a film (old or new) where a woman died to save the male star?

I have a vague memory of one i watched as a youngster many years ago where the male star killed someone and his lady friend confessed to the murder to save him because he was too important to lose so she got hung in his place. No idea what it was called,

    Anyone know of any others?

Closest I can think of Lost Horizon or Chinatown.

Don't think either quite fit the bill of the woman trying to save the male star though?

Me Earl and the Dying Girl. But it's not to save then from death.

Jean Grey in one of the X-Men films is a deffo.

    Black Widow Avengers Endgame

I take it your point is that it doesn't happen often though?

    Knock at the Cabin.

Shyamalan seriously needs to consider fcking off.

    3/10, no surprise really

I'm off to watch Avatar 2 Electric Boogaloo on Saturday so that I can avoid the carnage of rugby around here. Knock at the Cabin was an alternative.

Surely there's a better alternative to both?

Only positive about Knock at the Cabin is the performances. They were all solid tbf, but the film itself is pointless. The book I hear is much better and has a different ending.

Been like that for a while. Nothing appeals enough for me to go to see it at the cinema.

If Babylon is on, I'd recommend that. Good film and defo one for the big screen imo.
