It was my decision to select a lucky dip and I got it wrong.

Unfortunately avoiding this scenario was actually very easy... winning the lottery isn't.

There's no hindsight involved ... if you're making a decision based on evidence at the time.

If I see a potential risk, see it as 'unlikely' and decide not to prevent it that's nothing to do with hindsight when it actually happens.... it's a decision .

You've all got some very interesting views though thanks for letting me know why you'd have made the same decision.

So what 'evidence' did Howe have (pre-match) that Pope would get a red card in that game?

    He didn't that's irrelevant.

He knew if he did get sent off we'd have no 1st or 2nd keeper and made a decision.

I said and it's a fact that if he'd chosen to not take thst risk this red card situation and issue would have been avoidable from the start. ...ie hindsight not required...

Unfortunately the other decision was made and I'm pleased to know you'd all make the same error. That's fine

If Botman has been sent off we’d be playing Lascelles

OK, so who else would you have dropped (pre match)?
How many of the first team?

Bearing in mind you can still be penalised for purposely fielding a weakened team full of youth players who have not featured in previous matches.

What would your line-uo have been v Liverpool?

In hindsight he let 2 goals in and got send off in just 22 minutes, so maybe Rex has a point!

Howe is still thinking of a top 6 finish hence strong team yesterday, why throw the game? We're still involved in 2 competitions and he did the right thing besides playing Anderson and letting Wilson sit on his arse again but that's for another day. Can we put this to bed and look forward to Sunday?

I know mate the reason for his decision and what I pointed post are just two completely different things .

I'm moving on because my original comment was matter of fact and I will not yield on something that was a fact.

We can happily discuss the reasons why that's fine it's opinion based.:emoticon-0148-yes:
