When my son and I discuss the arrival of new players, I always tell him to give them a year before making a judgement, especially the foreign ones.
Moving to a different club, area and even country can often unsettle a player and sometimes they don't perform to their true ability for several months. I think that Colo and Enrique are good examples of this.

Some, on the other hand, are just ****!!!!!

thanks for that there are of course people who make considered judgements. Also, of course people are allowed to change their minds depending on performanceas as you say you pay their wages. I think it's mostly the not giving people a chance to bed in to the team that gets on my nerves. How many potentially good players have we had over the years who could have and should have done better. Sport is mostly played in the head in the sense of being a confidence thing. Booing people who have recently joined and are largely an unknown factor - does it help them each their potential, I don't think so. Anyways I suppose the real problem is the money as usual as footballers earn such ridiculous amounts of money they leave themselves open criticism even if not fully justifies. I guess like most people the thihng that gets on my nerves most is players not appearing to make any effort.

Ameobi can be annoying at times

To be fair most fans rate Guthrie highly. He was pivotal in CCC. Circumstances have conspired against him with regard to having a genuine run out in the PL and The Gentleman Joey Barton's form in PL has pleasantly surprised everyone - but I think given a run of games he would do perfectly well in the PL. Admittedly he did have a stinker against WBA. But, as said given match practice he'd do fine.

He may not score as many goals as Nolan, or defend as well as Tiote but puts in a good shift as a box-to-box player and when his confidence was high his passing (long and short) and ability to instantly change defence to attack has been second only to Barton in recent years.

So, in summary, while he may not excel in one aspect like some midfielders. I think Guthrie has been an excellent all-rounder and his contribution to the CCC stroll has been well acknowledged by most fans.

    Tis all taotoon.
