Very few football teams perform well against a team that losers a player, they never seem to dominate as much as you think you would.

How have we not just controlled this game. Wouldnt know we’ve got the extra man.

This is where thiago would be in his element. Keep the ball dictate the play.

Sweet jesus, weve been absolute ****e, thiago gets injured, not in the team and we instantly look better, yet you think he'd be a benefit?

Ridiculous

Not a great performance but it didn't need to be in the end. The game panned out better than we could've expected so we could phone it in a bit with Madrid in mind.

Delighted with the win. Good seeing Virgil and Jota back. It feels more like us.

Think Virgil played like Lovren with his hair in a bun, tbh. Joe has got the positional awareness of a nun in a brothel, and when Bajetic went off we had nobody in midfield who could complete a 5-yard pass.

Not one to complain though. <whistle>

Strange performance - a few plus points, but still a long way off our best. Still, we're going in the right direction at last.

Does Jamie Redknapp think the prem play rush keeper and longstaff could use his hands as last man in the pope red card?

Says that should be treated like outfield player and if that was outfield player wojkdbt be red cos keeper would be in goal.

Sorry but longstaff was on the pen spot, can’t use his hands and would be 1v1 with Salah. Not sure can get much more of a goal scoring chance than that lol

In that situation where we just needed to keep calm on the ball and dominate possession to wear Newcastle down, keep the ball moving etc then yes. He would have been perfect to come on.

Rather that than firmino and Milner who kepa trying to pass to a Newcastle player and then Milner having to make last man sliding tackles (albeit good ones) to stop the counters

redknapp was assigned to be dickhead of the panel this week.

there's always one.

it's a very clear red. no question and no matter how whingy you arr about the final next week its a crazy action that Pope has done and its his own fault.

every sympathy to the guy but he did it.

Shouldn’t be a suspension that goes into a diff comp imo. Sent off in the prem, you’re banned for the prem. doesn’t carry over to Europe so why should it in cups.

****ing Redknapp is doing it again! "If an outfield player does that they won't get sent off". Arseoles - the rule applies to outfield players also - it makes no mention of goalkeepers! They may as well get the ******ed ****wits on the prem to referee and pundit games if they want pig-ignorant ****wits who do not know the ****ing bastard rules of the game!:emoticon-0146-punch:headbang: Raging. :emoticon-0121-angry

True, he is very slow, oh sorry calm on the ball, just unfortunate that when he does lose the ball he can't make a sliding tackle to win the ball because he's watching from 10 yards away.

2 games out 2 wins coincidence or he's just not what we need?
