I'm a ST holder and I've not got one.. Edit: In fact I am a season ticket holder x 2 and I didn't get one never mind two.
Brutally unlucky if you were in the 3% that didn't get tickets and had been to a Cup game this season. Not sure what "period" you were in but if your a ST holder who had been to a cup game this year (up to period 4) and still didn't get one that does seem unfair. Period 5 though - ST holder and no cup games... it's super unlucky and I feel for them/you but its not unfair imo. Period 4 shouldn't have been a ballot for me, auto qualification, they should have done less "periods" and combined 1+2 (auto), 3+4 (auto), 5+6+7 (ballot). I'm a member, made the effort to get up for a cup game mid week - no complaints I didn't get one.
I know of at least 9 other season ticket holders who didn't get one my phone has not stopped today with people asking me about tickets - as if I know anyone in the Ticket office
just landed in my emails Newcastle United update on Wembley ticketing The Trust has received a significant volume of requests in relation to the process applied to the sale of tickets for the forthcoming Carabao Cup Final. As result, the Trust have today contacted the club seeking additional clarification of the process that has been applied – in response, the club have provided us with the below update to share with Members. NUFC Response "We appreciate that every Newcastle United supporter wants to be there to support the team at Wembley and we offer our sincere apologies to anyone who has been left disappointed. Unfortunately, demand has greatly outstripped the supply of tickets we have been allocated for the Carabao Cup Final and we are unable to obtain more. With this in mind, we considered our options around ticket sales very carefully and worked hard to ensure tickets were made available to supporters in as fair and equitable a way as possible. Accordingly, we established a set of priority periods based on eligibility criteria - heavily weighted towards season ticket holder status, number of loyalty points and Carabao Cup ticket purchasing history during the current 2022/23 season. 97% of the tickets available within the priority periods have been purchased by current season ticket holders, with a very small allocation made available to members and supporters with a purchase history in the Carabao Cup. This is in line with our on-sale policy throughout previous rounds of the competition. In addition, a small allocation has been allocated to our hard-working full-time staff, our players and coaches’ families, our owners and our official partners at a ratio that benchmarks favourably in comparison to other clubs that have reached domestic cup finals in recent years. We appreciate this will be little consolation to any supporter who has missed out, but we hope the above information is helpful in understanding how tickets have been allocated. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. Your support is truly appreciated.” The club have also outlined their process for contacting NUFC about Wembley tickets should you feel the need. All Supporter Services enquiries – [email protected] Complaints – see the club’s complaints procedure in the Customer Service section https://www.nufc.co.uk/fans/supporter-charter/ The Trust is grateful to Newcastle United for this communication and we will consult with members further after the Cup Final to collate feedback about the ticket process for Wembley, and ticketing in general, with the aim of aiding the club and members where we can. That 97% of tickets for Wembley went to season ticket holders for the Cup Final shows there is little doubt that the club has put season ticket holders first when allocating tickets.
if the Trust has "received a significant volume of requests" regarding tickets then this suggests the 97% quoted as receiving tickets is utter bollox
If true then around 1500 season ticket holders didn’t get one. What I think the club should say is that this season ticket holders (not new ones) who missed out are priority 1 next time we get to a final ( only a year to wait)
I also know a lot of people who sit near me, who are season ticket holders and are pensioners I asked most of them if they were going to Wembley, looking to buy their tickets but 97% of them said they were not going to Wembley and would not be applying for tickets either Not to mention season ticket holders who sit in the family section The fact that I could only get level 5 seats with a Cat 3 criteria suggests a lot of tickets were sold to Cat 1 and Cat 2 Somehow I cant believe that all those lower section tickets and half of level 5 section were taken up by these 1 and 2 Categories Someone is telling porkies
I was in Period 4. For me, and I would say this, tickets shouldn’t have gone to the next Group until all in the Group prior to it had a ticket. If the number of people in a Group exceeded the number of tickets then ballot and ‘lower’ Groups shouldn’t get any. IMO no member should have a ticket until all season ticket holder’s had one. No one’s fault but the Club’s so I don’t begrudge anyone having a ticket. I know the Club could never keep everyone happy but this goes back to my point yesterday where I said the Club needs to be transparent and explain what exactly has happened. And had been to two cup games this season and has 23 loyalty points.
After period 3, they might aswell have made it like buying for a home game, random place in the queue and hope you are high up, the ballot is effectively the same thing anyway, the club have shot themselves in the foot a bit by making it sound like p4 had a better chance than p6 for example, but it doesn't seem to have been the case. Scrap periods 4-7 and there wouldn't have been as much backlash.
Club. “97% of the tickets available within the priority periods have been purchased by current season ticket holders” Trust. “That 97% of tickets for Wembley went to season ticket holders for the Cup Final shows there is little doubt that the club has put season ticket holders first when allocating tickets.” Not the same thing. How many tickets were received? How many tickets were put up for sale?
97 % of 25000 is not the same as 97% OF 33000 I want the club to publish how many tickets were taken up by period 1 and Period 2 As I say I went to the ticket office and picket my seats from the screen shown to me My only options were midway up on level 5 which suggested that their were not a great deal of tickets left for Period 4 and that a massive amount of people qualified for 1 and 2
Some people will say they should all have sold out to ST holders, some people will say it's unfair that it's a closed shop etc. I think people would have been happier with the queue method rather than the ballot. How do we know that people at the box office didn't sift through the applications and give them to mates etc, unlikely i know, but at least the queue system is slightly fairer (and gives me a better chance because i know how to get multiple places in it )
Now you're going to be much better at getting a read on this by me, and forgive my distrust of lawyers currently Trev, but....... That to me screams not so clever wording meaning 97% of those eligible to purchase in periods 1-3 for example were took up, meaning there was more tickets for periods 4-7. Possibly written by a thick ****ing bottom feeding property solicitor?
We all know how to do that, and trust me, everyone does do it. Queues for the priority purchases were done using it, and they were ****ing massive. I had 7 devices loaded up and best place I got was 8,146 and worst one was 17,989 with over 32,000 in the queue. Was blatantly obvious everyone was at it as I was through, seats chosen, payment made and had confirmation e-mail within 42 minutes.
Put them all on resale again and have one massive queue for all ST holdsrs and members, first come first served, it's the only fair way now
It is a closed shop to get to away match tickets as you need loyalty points to get them and you only get loyalty points if you go to away games this making it virtually impossible to accrue many points
Nah, best way is to sell them face to face at box office. With people bringing ID to prove who they are and where they live.
You only need one device as long as you have multiple browsers (you prob already knew) I use chrome, firefox etc on my phone.
