My daughter plays tenor horn in the Leeds University brass band. They reached the UK University brass band finals and the final was held at Warwick University today. 3 Universities tied on points for first place including Leeds. After penalty points were taken into account Leeds came 3rd, she is still chuffed as she did not think they would get top 3. She has had so much bad luck in the past couple of years it is good that something nice has happened for her.
Played much better today but still room for improvement. With players returning from injury, games in hand and matches against rivals coming up, it's a lot more open than some would have you believe
Some of us have to be over-exuberant to balance out all the negative energy from the miserable ****ers.
reality check. Newcastle 41 spurs 39 Brighton 35 Fulham 35 Brentford 34 liverpool 32 4 sides with 1 game a week there. 4 sides that all have their own strengths and weaknesses but 4 sides who've never really had to compete in the top end of the prem and 4 sides who's point tally is not actually all that impressive. 70 points will take 4th but we need 33 points to get there. that's not impossible but it requires much much better displays that we put in yesterday against a toothless Everton 7 points behind spurs is the biggest challenge of all for us.
If there's one side in there that has shown they could win 10 on the spin, its LFC (admittedly not this season).
Well when you've suddenly 5 forwards and just the one cl game in the month then you've a lot of options to score goals. the forwards getting it together can drive a lot for us by taking pressure off.
Exactly. If we're scoring plenty we can afford to concede a few. City's defence is vulnerable too, it's just that not many get to test it because they're too busy defending their own end.
We just need to tidy up the few things that we are obviously poor at. Dyche had no game plan but to keep it tight, not concede and pump any ball they got at the far post. Others want to run that matip, trent channel knowing its weak as piss. It doesn't seem to matter what side the ball comes from, neither full back is work piss under a high ball and on set peice nobody seems to have the idea to go mark the big man and jump with them. We have a nunez, gakpo, fabinho, vvd, konate team now. all big men. Surely One can mark the big lanky **** headed for the back post?? If we can cut out the stupid errors, shore up those couple of areas if genuine weakness and then threaten sides we can halve the amount of chances we are giving away and double the mount of decent chances we have to miss then automatcially the luck swings back in our direction. I'd be interested in seeing Alisson Trent Konate VVD robertson Bajceitc Fabinho Salah Gakpo Diaz Nunez That might be quite attacking. It leaves jota, firmino, elliott and carvalho out in the cold LOL. I do feel theres masses of options if we can get them fit. Even now just sub jota for diaz and lets see.
