Rush hour in Sunderland, 80s style.

Great memories in that mate. Thanks.

The shop selling Villa pop looks really familiar, but there would have been loads like it. My dad worked on a pop wagon for a time. Sasparilla - best ever? I loved cream soda. My dad always protected the empties and tops with his life.

Just been on about the pop wagon with three fellers at work today. Only thing that comes close to any pop van flavor is for me, Sainsbury's own fizzy pop.

Sykes' pop van used to be class back in the day. Keep the glass bottles and give them back to the lads on the van. They used to stand on the back of the van and hang onto it when it went from street to street.

My memory is poor but seem to remember one day a week it would come down your street. Couple of bottles we got had to last a few days so it was small glasses. Proper treat.

We moved out to to the country when I was still young and I always remember there being no pop wagon. Mind you we suddenly had a farmer bringing our meat once a month and a library on wheels so wasnt all bad <laugh>
