Closer to home I think Caden Kelly is a class act from the little I have seen of him , I think I was the first on here to earmark both of our Hume's and Patto when none of them had appeared on the radar, so you cant be right all of the time.

Yeah i do send the odd player report in but havent heard back from the club - i get it though as theyll get 100s of emails from scouts, agents, players etc.
I only send reports on players i do off my own back, if i get a scouting assignment by the team i work for then i wont send any of those to the club.
Kelly has something about him, hope he gets a loan move this yr as theres def a player in there.
Hume might be one of my fave players ive ever scouted, watched him a few times for linfield and impressed every time - especially because i like fullbacks who get stuck in, every game i watched he pretty much put an opponent into the stand
he has a lot going for him I said weeks ago when we had Cirkin and Gooch at full back / wing back, that Hume was the best full back / wing back at the club and I still believe this, not that Cirkin is far behind, I'll say no more.
We've got a fantastic pair of full backs, but Hume is fast becoming my favourite player. They're both "old school" full backs in a sense. The defending side is a more standout part of their game, they're both good enough going forward but more in a supporting (Gary Neville style) role than a kamikaze wingback. They're strong lads for their size and not afraid to mix it and throw in a tough tackle.
Done any scouting on Tim Prica? He seems highly regarded and is having a good season. I'm not sure his dad will give Sunderland a good recommendation mind.

As those old croaks among us know, we won the cup in 1973 with five of our own in the team, and low key signings elsewhere, apart from Dave Watson, who was fantastic value.

I would be delighted to see him return but, I've just finished reading his autobiography and the way he talks about Liverpool (the club and the fans) I'll be very surprised if he comes back to Sunderland
We do mate, I can't remember a time feeling as optomistic as I do now, maybe the time when Alan Brown first came to Sunderland and he took a few backward steps, first ever relegation, Revie's Leeds, Cloughies injury, Toddo,s sale,all spring to mind, before he eventually laid down the basis of that 1973 team, but it took nigh on 20 years to build, this revolution is going to happening in as many months , and its breathtaking , loving every minute of it.

I'm transported back with this current team...the excitement of the football, the adventure of it all. I'm 70 now, and when I watched the tv coverage back the other night,the BBC panning to the Directors box and making mention of KLD sat there.....only 25!

I used to feel that way too, but although he might help out in the squad right now, Henderson really belongs to the past and maybe it should stay that way for the good of all concerned . I wasn't one of them , but he had his critics first time around and they would be waiting to have a go again if he ever returned . It happened with Defoe recently, and sometimes even with the best intensions, obvious solutions can go horribly wrong its part and parcel of the game, but as for Hendo he would be mad to take such a risk even if it was offered.

The type of move that would have brought Hendo back belongs to another time. A long-time ago too.
Players back in the long ago would often drop down a division towards the end of their career. But the divergence in salaries between the two levels is so now gigantic that the practice is all but done for.
There are some lucrative, easy to manage, career finishing moves for many big names now, and for others with tens of millions in the bank, a year or two at the tough end to make another one probably doesn't seem worth it.
You never know , but in this case, Hendo has been at Liverpool over ten years, his family with young children are there and settled and he is revered there.
I was in the Borough on Sunday and had the pleasure of shaking Bobby(the little general) Kerr's hand have still got a smile on my face now lol
