If we're honest its Sky Sports that have ****ed up football. Both in this country and even more so in Scotland and abroad. Nobody could realistically compete with the PL clubs due to the TV revenue, causing people to do anything they could to reach the PL and risk everything.
FFS - I can live with Sunderland winning a League Cup in 2014 so long as Leicester don't benefit from anything
Doubt anything meaningful will happen to city. Like spurly says they'll probably get some laughable fine of 10k and carry on taking "sponsorship" money from non existent companies with no staff and offices as per
Along with SKY it was also Ondigital aka ITVDigital, but the latter went under, which threw my club at the time into £10M debt, because we had started a new stadium build, based on the contract arrangements at the time. So the TV money went bust, hence our club went bust, but the Lord answered my prayers, resulting in the financial collapse of the economy, which meant lots of loans suddenly disappeared, as if by magic. I don't know where the £10M went to nor do I care, but I often hope SKY would go bust, just so I can see some top tier clubs, experience what we had to and watch the plastics disappear overnight.
Everton got away with it. Precedence was set there. Chelsea are rumoured to have asked for dispensation citing this. If City then cite this then the whole FFP system collapses as Juve, Barca, Real etc are all going to dive in on it if it happens here.
I also think the whole of Manchester should be tarred with the same brush and all of them should be immediately thrown out of domestic competitions for the remainder of this season
got way with what exactly. Time will come that Everton need to find the £50m Usmanov paid to be preferred bidder for stadium naming rights. Why do you think Gordon and Richarlison went, because that was an issue coming up unless finances were sorted.
You were £137m over spent for your 3 year period and tried citing that your Covid losses were 4 times as much as clubs with far bigger stadiums and attendances. Your owners were at it.......But, you got away with it to a certain degree. Infrastructure doesn't come into FFP so a new stadium and related costs means nothing at all.
In all seriousness for a minute... ... I hope this is a major collapse of our football... Then start again with transfer fee and wage caps in place.
the club ensure we fell inside the loss limits by selling first option on stadium naming rights for £50m. If Usmanov is still sanctioned, we will be looking for the black hole and will fail FFP. Trust me, it’s a time bomb waiting to go off.
I'm not digging you or Everton out here by the way..... I'm just saying exactly what every club is going to say the second they fall foul of the rules. Its going to be "You never punished them, you can't punish us"
we will be punished if we don’t fill that £50m void. We escaped through a loophole last time. Now Usmanov is out of the picture we could be in trouble.
I think ......... There's exceptional circumstances involved there. There isn't with City.........I mean if the cheeky bastards had offered me a 10% admin fee to advertise them to the tune of £100m a year I would have gladly played along, but.......They didn't so **** the cheating ****s
