The thing is, he's doing his best with what he has. We are clearly missing the in depth quality all over the pitch and throughout the squad the other sides have.

Almiron's purple patch was exactly that, but like Willocks a couple of seasons ago. but we're playing week in week out with the same front 3 for the most part, our back up's are Jacob Murphy, Elliot Anderson, Javier Manqillo, Jamal Lascelles etc. I have kids in my under 9's team that could rinse Murphy ffs <laugh>

Some decent players in there but worth noting they were all playing under Bruce and Ashley when we had 3 points in 8 games at the start of last season.

If we are going to do well then it's going to take longer than 14-15 months!

Looking at that pic, you definitely have to give Howe credit for what he's done.

Joelinton as a CM has been really impressive and Wilson is a solid striker but the rest wouldn't make a top six squad, let alone XI.

If someone offered me a season of no threat of relegation and a cup final in August I would have snapped their hands off mate, I will admit I'll be slightly disappointed now if we don't finish in Europe now. However I would also suggest if we pulled off a minor miracle and win the league cup and it qualifies us for Europe we will drop like Jurgen Klopp at the 7 year mark <whistle>

I agree entirely. At the beginning of the season I said I thought we'd get top ten but struggle to qualify for Europe, I think our first team may be around 7-8th best but our back-up to that first 11 are more like bottom half/ championship players. Suspect Howe would have snatched your arm off for 7th and a cup final at the start of the season but now many fans and pundits will turn on him if that's what we end up with (7th and losing finalists).

As nuts as this sounds, we could actually do with getting beat for the greater good in the next 2 games.

Howe is being loyal to the players that have gone on this run, and a defeat would allow him to mix things up a bit.

Can't even be arsed to mention Rashford scoring yet again, which I know he likes me reminding him about (11 in 12 btw)

Doesn't post after Livpl losses but at least he was always reading.

Not anymore, Wolves broke the LFC Putney Ultras.

Neither us nor Man Utd have had to play any of the other "big teams" home or away. I think we've both had home matches pretty much through too? The League Cup has fallen for both of us.
