Game #30 sees a Cardiff City team that appear to be in constant purgatory now facing a journey to Hull and back.
With the Bluebirds seeking their first league win in 11 games, a visit to the ever improving Tigers (11 points from their last 6 games) really isn't what we need, but hey ho, our meteoric rise has to start somewhere right?

Our hosts currently reside in 15th spot, 6 places and 8 points better off than our struggling squad. Their last game out saw them secure a thumping 3-0 win over QPR and with them having the joint second highest scorer in the division in Óscar Estupiñán, we can almost be assured that they will be in confident mood when facing our travelling heroes.
Interestingly, Hull don't have any players inside the top 20 assist makers, which either points to an awful lot of individually creative players or creativity throughout the team.

Earlier in the season, we saw a very topsy turvey and very frustrating game at the CCS, with the Tigers running out 2-3 winners, the Bluebirds falling behind very early on, then pulling themselves into a 2-1 lead, only to see 2 quickfire goals consign us to defeat.

VT watches on for the first time since football was broadcast in colour... he was much dismayed to find us in Blue shirts and promptly blamed that for our defeat to Hull.

Last seasons corresponding fixture also saw the Bluebirds defeated by a 2-1 scoreline, meaning the Tigers have now defeated us 3 times in a row. Lets just hope that we can avoid the ignominy of losing 4 on the bounce to the stripey shirted Humbersiders (or rather the East Riding of Yorkshireites).

Early Bluebirds Team News
Following defeat in new gaffer Sabri Lamouchi's first match, it would be no surprise if changes are rung.
Callum O'Dowda should be back in contention and after a torrid time on Tuesday night, it would be no shock to see Jack Simpson and Romaine Sawyers both drop out from the starting 11.
New signing Sory Kaba is unlikely to feature, with Lamouchi briefing the media as follows "We're talking about someone who is not in the building. I need to see the player face to face, to sit with him.
"His last game was in a different country, a different league, and a different time, as well. The last game he played was in November."
"Only with him here will we find the best solution, and the best way to use him. I don't want to take any risks, for the Club or for him."
"For sure he will travel with us to Hull, because he needs to know the players, the staff and the Club."

It soon became apparent that Sory Kaba needed more Ayatollah training...

Prutton & Co Predict
After going missing in action during mid-week, the Sky team have once again predicted a reverse for the Bluebirds, indicating a complete lack of belief in the "Dead Cat Bounce" theory. This time it's predicted that we will lose 2-0.

The bookies are in full agreement with match odds as follows;
Home Win 11/10 Draw 9/4 Away Win 13/5

Fun Fact
They have white telephone boxes....
Hull is the only place in the country not to have BT provide its telephone services. The Hull Telephone Department was launched in 1904, later becoming Kingston Communications. For 115 years, they have set Hull apart – and been a symbol of the city’s determination to do things differently.

You'd have thought they'd have been black and amber striped wouldn't you??

Sharing The Love
Not too many more names leaping out at me that weren't covered on the home thread but we have a couple of "superstar" forwards on the list again (how many awful strikers have we had play for us eh? Almost makes you wonder is it us and not them??).

So, can we have a Hull of a time and finally, at long last, win a game? Will Lamouchi have managed to engender some l'amour for the ball in our misfiring midfield?? Will the Bluebirds tame the Tigers at the 4th time of asking???

All I know is Mrs Brizzle is chasing me up because we're due to go out to dinner now.... I only hope our team can move with the pace and fervour thar I'm now having to to avoid a beating!!!

Bloooooooooooooooooobirds.....

Super, entertaining match thread Brizzle. A great read as always <applause>

Hopefully O'Dowda is sufficiently recovered and ready to bring his class. I think we can be tight enough at the back not to concede a hatful (touch wood) so it's going to be about being effective up front.
Only game two for the new regime so I'm not expecting miracles. But let's give it a go, try hard and play to our best.

Well done Brizzo - a masterpiece again. <ok>

Got a feeling this game is as much a test for Lamouchi as the team. If it goes breasts up in a bad way, he could be in for a rough ride.

Looks like 3 at the back with Ng right wing back.

Sawyers starts again:emoticon-0138-think

No Davies or Colwill but at least he’s benched Ralls

We should be going in HT in the lead.

Maybe 2-1 because we were saved by the post early on - Robinson and Filofax should be both on the scoresheet
