Tbh, if we can tell the Socts to sod off there is a real possibility we might get the change anyway. But it still needs the will of the public.
It gets light at about 9am here in deepest winter which is bad enough, not sure I could handle darkness in the morning until 10am. Having said that, I don't see a problem with the rest of the UK changing and Scotland staying as it is

Well seeing as you live in a Geographical latitude [Portugal] where the difference between light and dark stays much more constant, than the UK, I can understand your reaction. But, if it's cloudy [which it is much of the time], we'll live in the bloody twilight, in the winter, except when it's dark for the rest of the time, at latitude 51°N and above. It's actually a good idea to have the light when most people can enjoy it, i.e. after they leave work.
It's dark here at 5 30.
