Very easy way to nuke Chelsea is for all clubs just to make an unofficial pact to not sign any of their players. We'll start at the beginning of the alphabet and ensure Arsenal don't sign any of their players first.:emoticon-0165-muscl

We don't sign their players anyway, just their ex-managers.

Though I take it this starts after you sign Jorginho today?

Would be interesting to see more detailed stattery on their transfer activity.
Specifically, what % of :

1. signings come from the UK
2. signings come from overseas
3. sales of those in 1, go to UK/overseas clubs
4. same as 3, but ^1 ^2

If the great majority of 3/4 stay in the UK,
then your proposal could have serious bite.
 
We sign far too many ex-Chelsea players and out of the ones we have signed, only Cech and Luiz (under Arteta) turned out to be somewhat respectable. Luiz in particular was abysmal under Emery, but was much better when Arteta came in and put in some huge performances in big games (Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea…). But it speaks volumes that these were the only two recent signings who I didn’t consider to be horrendous overall. As they certainly weren’t ‘amazing’ for us.

Not convinced in the slightest with Jorginho, but it appears as though Arteta wanted him and Ornstein just said now that the Arsenal staff and players are looking forward to his arrival. So maybe he’ll contribute more than I think? Maybe in a different environment/structure he can succeed?

I’m probably clutching at straws a bit, but I have to believe we know what we’re doing here otherwise I’ll lose myself down a rabbit hole of negativity.

It's a strange one because, despite his achievements, Chelsea fans still have very mixed opinions on him. He's very marmite it seems.

My view on it is, in the right system and with good protection surrounding him, he can perform well. Part of his issue at Chelsea is that he's had to play under lots of different managers, who have expected different things from him, with tactics/formations that haven't suited the player he is.

Arsenal are generally compact in and out of possession, and aren't reliant on transitions, so his physical limitations can be protected in a possession-oriented side who (collectively) win a lot of duels and circulate the ball fast.

However, his flaws still concern me and, although it is clear Arsenal have liked him as a player for a while, I would have preferred an alternative option.
 
Do you think Chelsea will get themselves into so much debt they will have to fold leaving Fulham,literally,the only team iin Fulham?
 
Looks like Chelsea’s made the breakthrough for Fernandez, he’s doing his medical, €120m deal, contract until 2031!

Crazy.
